Chemistry 1152L Chem Draw Laboratory

The department of Natural Sciences has secured the rites to a site license for a program called Chem Draw. You can access this program at: http://sitesubscription.cambridgesoft.com/sitelicense.cfm? sid=2560 You should have already downloaded this program and start practicing the structures that you can draw here for your laboratory reports.

This chemistry deals with a lot of structures of molecules and the structures are very important to the course. It is best if the structures drawn are clear and correct. This computer program helps us draw clear structures that can be imported into your Word Document Laboratory Report sheets and then printed out to be submitted. We will expect all of your structures to be of this quality on your reports this semester.

Our goal to day is to review some of the basics of the program to allow you to practice drawing molecules and structures. First, I think it best to review some of the important tool features that you will find most useful. Some of the tool features we will not use. Here are some important ones and you can play along as we review them.
