ZONE EXAMINING SECRETARY – Aimee Cuthbert/ Niree Weybury ITEM 5 Twenty seven riders are ready to ride the ridden test. March/Apr Venues to be Whittlesea and Melton.

Next round needs books in at June meeting.

ITEM 6 PRESIDENT’S REPORT Congratulations to all riders in the Dressage and Showjumping teams for State. Good luck.

On 28th February a delegation of CZ will be going to Bendigo to attend an evening as Leonie has been nominated at “Administrator of the Year”. Sue Hollins

ITEM 7 JUNIOR COMMITTEE  In recess.

ITEM 8 GENERAL BUSINESS WITH NOTICE 8.1 Oaklands Pony Club wishes to add a Rugby jumper to their uniform. No objections.

8.2 Bullengarook Pony Club wish to add a soft shell jacket to their uniform. No objections.

8.3 Lowden Shield. Fritha Keeble will be event secretary. Program has been finalized and sent out to Clubs this week. Reminders there are two Club Shields this year – one for highest total shield, one for best average score per number of riders entered.

ITEM 9 GENERAL BUSINESS WITHOUT NOTICE 9.1 Central Zone Saddle Mats. We have a shortage. Motion: to purchase a set of extra-large white saddles mats in the current style. To put tabs on the black ones to reduce slippage.

9.2 Further to last meeting, Aimee has raffle tickets to be sold of which 60% of the proceeds go to CZ

9.3 Williamstown PC wishes to advise that Kate Sagar has been appointed the DC as Pip Molnar stepped down at the end of 2013. This is a requirement of the PCAV Bylaws. The zone rep. has to approve the appointment and the zone executive has to ratify it. Further advice that Bernie Bassetti has stepped down as club delegate and a replacement will be advised when known.

Zone Rep Report February 4 2014

There has been no State Council meeting since our last zone meeting. The next meeting is on February 11th. However, the PCAV office has been busy and all of the new rule books have been posted on the PCAV website. I listed a selection of the proposed changes at the December meeting. These include attendance, gear check at events, horse trials qualifications and course closure times. There are numerous others. Please make sure someone at your club is up-to-date with the changes and have copies available at the club for queries at rallies or competitions.

Other matters from the December meeting which are on-going are the up-date of Rules of Incorporation and the new PCAV calendar arrangements.

Rules of Incorporation for Consumer Affairs. The procedure for up-dating your club Rules of Incorporation (Constitution) was described in detail last meeting. So far, I have received copies of new Rules from Whittlesea (first in-well done!), Gisborne and Riddells Creek. If any other club has up-dated their Rules, please send me a copy for the record. For other clubs, the best plan at this stage would be to aim to have your new Rules approved at the AGM in April, saving you the trouble of calling a Special General Meeting. Please contact me if you need further help with this.

PCAV calendar entries for 2014 As I advised last year, in 2014, clubs are required to add their own calendar entries to the PCAV calendar. This can be done using the “Calendar” tab on the club website, or by logging on to MyClub on the PCAV website. Click on “Add an event” under “Calendar items” and complete the details. Ensure that “State” is selected when asked. If you add CZ to the end of your event name, then it is filtered on to the PCAV zone calendar (which is different to the excel version which was handed out last year and is on the CZ website). You can also list your rallies and other club activities just for club use by selecting “local”. You can add basic information of your 2014 event now and up-date with particular details and an attached program closer to the time. Again, please ask if you need help. Delegates here tonight should ensure that the club person with the PCAV MyClub password is aware of the new calendar arrangements.

State Dressage and SJ Championships These State Champs will be hosted by Midland Zone at Bendigo on March 1 & 2. The CZ dressage qualifiers were held at Kyneton PC on December 15. Many thanks to the Kyneton members who set up the venue and ran the canteen. The SJ qualifiers were combined with the Fimister SJ event at Gisborne on November 27. Congratulations to the riders who placed in their sections. The results are on the CZ website. Teams for the Dressage and SJ State Championships have been selected. Many will have attended earlier tonight for riders to organise zone polo uniforms and for Team Managers to collect saddle blankets. We have dressage teams at Grades 2 & 3, SJ teams for B & C grades and individual competitors for grade 1 dressage and A grade SJ. We wish them every success at Bendigo.

State Horse Trials Championships Plans are continuing for our zone’s hosting of this event. A Sponsorship Prospectus was published on the website last year, but sponsorship is progressing rather slowly. If you know of any businesses which might be interested in sponsoring our event, please forward them the Prospectus. We also have a Facebook page dedicated to the Horse Trials. Horseland PCAV State Horse Trials 2014. Have you looked at it yet? Please “like” it and send the link to your friends. I recently walked around the course at Riddells Creek with Kevin Watson, our Course Designer, Bev Shandley, the PCAV TD and Michelle Debenum, the 2013 HT TD. They approved of Kevin’s plans. Kevin has made a request of the zone for pot plants to dress the course. If every club were able to lend a float load of pot plants for the weekend, we can make the venue really attractive. Any pots you have lining your verandas would be very welcome, or now is the time to start planting – flowers, vegies, anything that will be green and flourishing in May.
