Associated Student Government Meeting Minutes Monday, March 14th, 2015 IDW 115 A/B 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Lesley Dairion  Patient Observer Positions o Looking to offer students a part time job o Sit with patients to ensure that they do not get out of bed, etc… o Pay: $10.20 / hour o There is training involved (paid) o Link to apply online will be available in a few weeks o Email [email protected] for details or questions

Nadia Lalla, Associate Provost for Library and Student Services  Progress Update on Student Union / Bookstore o Vendor has been selected for bookstore; Akademos o Website is in process of being built. Should be available around April 20th o Students will be able to order books from store for summer semester & following fall semester o Akademos site will be linked via GUS and Blackboard o Allows for use of financial aid to purchase books o Food services at the Student Union is still in the vendor/bidding process

Judith Baxter-Aung, Academic Health Plans Insurance Representative  Healthcare premiums tend to trend upward in pricing 7-10% yearly o Prescriptions tend to trend higher at ~ 15%  Currently there are two plans available to students and their families at UAMS o Gold: $1,740 per student, spouse, and child; all children for $3,480 o Silver: $1,416 per student, spouse, and child; all children for $2,832 . Both the Gold & Silver plans maintain the same coverage in 2016-2017 as they did in 2015-2016 . Pricing in the 2016-2017 year have increased by ~10%.
