Adam Foss Is a Progressive, Passionate, and Resourceful Prosecutor in Today S Society

Abby Powell 10-26-16 LDS-N2

Adam Foss is a progressive, passionate, and resourceful prosecutor in today’s society.

He’s working to reform prosecutor’s integrity all around the United States. He takes the alternative route to dealing with his clients and instead of taking on a case and giving the option of jail or no jail, he gets to know them first. With any and all of his cases whether it’s a drug dealer, prostitute, or murderer that he’s representing. He tries to understand why the person committed this crime and does everything in his power to help them. He exemplifies the adaptive style of leadership because he adjusts his method depending on the type of case he’s working on.

I really enjoyed listening to this lecture because Adam is so passionate about what he does and has experienced many things that have made him knowledgeable on many topics. I liked his perspective on things because he talked about using all the resources available to him.

He talked about how he set up a reading session for kindergartners and wanted to help them improve their literacy because level of literacy correlates with children’s possibility of ending up in jail. The way he told his story was so unique and I could envision everything he was saying.

He told the stories of his clients and said it in a way that was relatable to everyone. He discussed the fact that even if he isn’t a licensed professional trained with dealing with drug addiction doesn’t mean he can’t do anything or that it’s not his job. He has dedicated his whole life to reforming the civil rights movement and will continue fighting until he sees a change in the system.

This lecture impacted my view of leadership in a positive way and gave me hope of finding what I want to pursue in my life and discover what my purpose is. Adam emphasized the power of our generation and how we are the future. I learned that personal values are motivated by ethics and influence leadership. I am going to do what Adam Foss said and really pay attention in the election this year, both locally and nationally.
