TO: 2016 Prospective Tax Sale Bidder RE: 2016 Annual Tax Sale

The Cherokee County Tax Sale will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 20, 2016 in the county supervisors room in the lower level of the courthouse. Attached is pertinent information: a registration bidder form, authorization to represent bidder form, W-9 form and notice of terms and conditions of the tax sale. Please read these carefully and return the bidder form and W-9 form to our office prior to the annual sale if you intend to bid at the tax sale.

All bidders must be registered and fees paid by Friday, June 17, 2016. The registration fee to bid at the tax sale is $25.00 per bidder. The delinquent tax list will be published in the Chronicle/Times on June 03, 2016. We are able to e-mail the delinquent tax list. We generate this list the first week or two of May. If you would like a copy sent to you, please provide us with your e-mail address and the date you would like it sent.

The day of the sale, you must sign in at the Cherokee County Treasurer’s Office before going to the sale. You will be issued a bidding number at that time.

All property purchased must be paid before leaving on June 20, 2016. The Treasurer’s office keeps the original tax certificates, so please allow 7 to 10 days to receive your copies of the tax sale certificates.
