Call to Order and Welcome Cate Moye called the meeting to order at 12:03 p.m. Minutes of the November 2005 meeting were approved as presented.

President’s Report Cate Moye thanked everyone for all their efforts in making all the recent concerts and events happen so successfully.

Executive Director’s Report Brenda Nienhouse reported that CTE was wonderful and unlike anything she’s ever seen anywhere in the country. The Holiday Pops concert was lovely and lots of fun. The Soiree in Post Falls at the Old Church was great with the exception of some audience talking over the first performances. Thanks went to Theresa Helmbrecht for a great cultivation event at her home, and for helping to make some wonderful potential connections. Brenda also announced that we have had several Development Director candidates in for interviews. No decision has been made yet, and she will keep everyone posted as progress is made. She reported that preparations for upcoming strategic planning are still underway and facilitators are being evaluated. More about this in January. Brenda also commented that several dates in the early spring are being considered for the gala. This will be announced when the date is set.

Fox Update: Brenda noted that the series of Hampson benefit events were extremely successful, and netted over $100,000. They are still working on the tax credit issues. More information as results are finalized.

Music Director’s Report Eckart Preu commented on the successes of recent concerts and events as well. He noted that Friday will be a wonderful concert with four harpsichordists and much wonderful music.

Finance Committee Report Chad Galloway called attention to the finance reports and noted that a scheduled November Endowment draw was delayed to December. Compared to last year, we are ahead in most areas. Executive Committee Meeting Minutes December 13, 2005 Page 2

Ron Stanley commented that we will be $45,000 short in sponsorship dollars for the Nutcracker, and observed that we need to evaluate and plan now for shortfalls in our bottom line going forward.

Marketing Report Annie Matlow reported that we are right on target for ticket sales for this time of year. Even though we missed our $46,000 Holiday Pops goal by $2000, our overall amount left to go to reach goal has dropped to $264,000. Ticket sales are moving very quickly right now.

Development Report Michelle Reid reported on the status of the Annual Fund. The Development Thanksgiving mailers are starting to show some activity. Other mailers are showing some results as well. She commented that we are seeing overall about $5000-$6000 a week in gifts, but are hoping to see those numbers increase dramatically as we move forward.

Cate Moye reported that John Bumgarner has agreed to co-chair the corporate campaign drive with Dick Trudell. At the recent development meeting there was a good brainstorming session to come up with ideas for drawing new faces into our family of donors.

Education Report Theresa Helmbrecht gave an update of the February 10th education classics concert. In honor of the education theme, they will be giving out an Outstanding Administrator award. They will be looking at the submissions for this award in January. There will also be an instrument donation event that evening benefiting needy students from District 81 schools.

Operations Report Don Nelson reported that things are extremely busy right now in getting concerts together.

Symphony Associates Report Maureen Boutz reported that SSA is working on finalizing the income numbers from Christmas Tree Elegance, and hopes to have final numbers by the end of January. She also commented on the tree winners, and new ideas they have for next year. Other upcoming events they are sponsoring include a Barnes and Noble book faire and Let’s Play for the Symphony in March.

Planned Giving Report No report.

Personnel Report No report.

Artistic Report Rosemary Selinger commented that the committee will meet next in February.

New Business With no further business, the committee meeting was adjourned at 1:03 pm.

Respectfully,

Sherry Knott, Secretary Executive Committee Meeting Minutes December 13, 2005 Page 3
