1) First used nitroglycerin and nitrates in treatment of acute myocardial infarction in 1960.

2) Began anticoagulation in treatment of acute myocardial infarction - 1960.

3) Began use of anticoagulation for angina pectoris, 1966.

4) Began use of anticoagulation in therapy of cerebrovascular insufficiency and peripheral arterial disease in 1970.

5) Began use of ophthalmic herplex in treatment of herpes simplex and herpes zoster before introduction of acyclovir ointment and oral acyclovir.

6) Began use of low-dose warfarin and heparin therapies in 1972.

7) Developed liquid potassium chloride for Cooper Laboratories, marketed as Kay- Ciel, in 1964-1965.

8) Began use of aspirin as an anticoagulant in 1968.

9) Began use of combined low-dose warfarin, dipyridmole, and aspirin in patients with cardiac, carotid and peripheral vascular disease - 1980.

10) Began use of cholestyramine in treatment of post-cholecystectomy diarrhea in 1987.
