Comments: These times are unofficial. Hoxie had some computer difficulties so I will not receive the official times until tomorrow. Based on these unofficial times, we had some of our best times of the year at the Hoxie meet. Three athletes achieved all league honors by finishing in the top 10 in the league competition – Cindy Sheaffer, Sonya Capps, and Tyler McHugh. Faith Meitl just missed achieving this goal; she did achieve a personal record by running a 26:32. She has continued to get stronger throughout the season. Jack Farr also had a personal record cutting over 2 minutes off of his time on this same course last year. Kelby Garrett also improved on his best time of the season. Junior high runners completed their season with Avery and Tod both medaling in the race. All of the junior high runners have improved in their running technique and in their conditioning this season. It has been fun to see them improve and get stronger each week. I am extremely pleased with how the DCHS/DCJHS athletes competed in this competition. They represented themselves and their school well. Although we did not bring home the league trophy we brought home the success of knowing that we had improved as runners.

Hoxie Invitational Hoxie scores their invitational as a combined score of the top five runners, boys and girls combined. They place the top 3 individuals at each grade level. We had two individual medalists in the Hoxie Invitational competition. Cindy Sheaffer placed 1st in the junior class girls division. Sonya Capps placed 3rd in the senior class girls division. Individual Medalist: 11th grade girls: 1st Cindy Sheaffer 12th grade girls: 3rd Sonya Capps

I do not know how the combined boys and girls team did in the Hoxie Invitational. Sharon Springs placed first, which was to be expected when they won both the boys and girls league competitions.
