The 7th grade is coming! The 7th grade is coming! … to BOSTON!
Dear 7th Grade Students and Parents/Guardian:
We are pleased to announce that we are once again planning a 7th grade trip to Boston. The dates for this year’s trip are May 12-13th.
Boston has played an enormous role in our country’s history. From the area’s settlement by the Pilgrims and Puritans, to the Sons of Liberty protests that helped spark the American Revolution, to the cries for the abolition of slavery that eventually led to the Civil War, Boston was at the center of many crucial events that shaped our nation. This trip will be an authentic, active learning experience that will reinforce and bring to life many 7th grade topics.
The cost of the trip is $465. This includes coach bus, meals, hotel, paid admission to three museums and historic sites, and tour guides. It also includes trip cancellation insurance if your student needs to withdraw from the trip at a later date for any reason.
On Wednesday September 30th we will be holding a meeting for parents only of students who are interested in going on this trip. The meeting will take place at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. We will discuss the trip in detail, including the itinerary, accommodations, transportation, fundraising, payment plans, and the availability of scholarships for families experiencing financial hardships. Our tour consultant from EF Explore America will help explain this exciting trip and answer any questions you might have. Our preliminary Itinerary and tour information (including online enrollment) can be found on the back of this page.
Trip enrollments will be accepted until October 30th, but we will be able to enroll your student the night of the meeting – just bring a $99 check or a credit/debit card as a deposit, as well as the signed student behavior contract sent home with this letter.
Hope to see you at the meeting!
Sincerely,
Terrence Thompson, Principal Jeff Place, Tour Leader
