This Past Week We…  spelled words with short a and short i.  used key details to understand our stories.  read HELP! A Story of Friendship.  punctuated statements with a period and questions with a question mark in our writing.  made ten to add in math.  started our Painted Lady Caterpillars focusing on their body parts in science.

This Coming Week We Will… ☺ spell words with short e, short o, and short u. ☺ review characters and setting of a story. ☺ read Big Red Lollipop. ☺ punctuate and use commands and exclamations when writing. ☺ decompose numbers to subtract and continue calendar routines in math. ☺ continue observing our caterpillars and Tower Garden!

We have started AR program to allow reading at your child’s level. I have sent home a login for Reading Eggs. We will be doing First In Math again this year also and you will also get a login to access the reading materials that go with our series. I am also using Dojo to track behavior and to provide positive reinforcement with our class rules. I can use that as a way to remind you of things and you can see pictures of what we are learning in the classroom. I hope to see you at Open House!
