Wecock

Obtained funding from HCC to employ a Community Development Worker to enable the Association to continue to develop new and innovative projects as identified by the local community. In the coming month plan to deliver a youth disco and street party to celebrate the jubilee. Lots of new and exciting projects being developed and facilities such as the launderette doing well.

Leigh Park

New Treasurer in place, will continue to work with staff, Trustees, HBC and HCC to tackle the financial issues which have been affecting the Association. Boxing Club may be returning to the centre, which will hopefully attract new young users. Refurbishment of the main foyer area planned. Working towards VISIBLE accreditation, initially aim to complete Pre Visible.

Waterlooville

Community Day May 28th. Waterlooville fete and family games day at the end of July. Currently operating at 97% capacity. Just obtained a major Health Care grant to work with people with disabilities. Looking to replace the partitioning curtain in the main hall, currently costed at £8.5k

Springwood

Currently working with Motiv8 to develop the Association’s Youth Club provision. Planning a Cream Tea event and Street party to celebrate the Jubilee. Developing closer links with young people in the area. 55+ Club now a section of the Association.

HCC

Community Association Network Conference is taking place in June, John explained that it would be advantageous for all Associations to attend, not only for networking purposes but also as the Workshops would provide very useful information. All said they would attend. John/Alison have completed the Network Review. A resulting suggestion was to widen the geographic area the networks covered. Havant could possibly be merged into a network with Gosport, Fareham and parts of East Hants and Winchester. After lengthy discussion the group decided that this was not the direction in which they wanted to go, they would like to maintain the current Havant network but also develop closer links with East Hants. HCC grant funding is changing, with the partnership funding stream ending and several new streams taking its place, the investment fund, activities fund and capital fund, John explain each grant in detail.

HBC

Laura explained about the Waterlooville Community Forum, encouraging Associations to attend as there input would be vital in deciding the future direction of the Forum.
