Important Notice to ClearCube Channel Partners Selling into the European Market

Product Transitions and End of Life for Superseded ClearCube Products

In order to give customers the best possible experience and to deliver the fastest performing PC Blade solutions on the market, ClearCube recently introduced a series of new blade, chassis and user port products. The new R1300 and R2200 PC Blades continue to use genuine Intel® chipsets and processors and deliver faster performance and higher throughput compared to the older R1200 and R2100 blade models. The new R4300 chassis improves redundancy and serviceability due to its dual AC inputs, hot swappable power supplies, and highly modular design. The new C7130 C/Port simplifies installs with advanced auto-tuning capability. For more information and details on these and other new ClearCube products refer to the associated Reseller Product Announcements (RPAs) available in the ClearCube Partner Portal.

Note that these new products will also comply with the new European Union RoHS requirements that take effect on 1st July, 2006. As a result of these new product introductions, their predecessors are going End of Life (EOL). The specific EOL timeframe for Europe is driven by the RoHS deadline, therefore the older products cannot ship into Europe past 30th June, 2006 (with the exception of RMA products sent to fulfill warranty obligations).

It is very important that you read and understand this notice, and take any action that is necessary to re-quote or accelerate outstanding customer orders and opportunities. If you have outstanding quotes for current products it is imperative that you close the opportunities to enable shipment prior to 30th June, 2006. After this date, only the new replacement products can be shipped (some of which will not be immediately available).

Actions you need to take with your ClearCube customers and prospects

Your ClearCube customers and prospects need to be told immediately which products will no longer be available after 30th June 2006.

Implications for existing ClearCube end-users

Existing end-users may have internally certified and approved only a specific range of ClearCube products. If there are any near-term requirements for products that will be end of life at 30th June 2006, users should immediately consider placing orders for all foreseeable needs. Alternatively, you will need to work with them to facilitate any testing and re-approvals necessary for new RoHS compliant ClearCube products that will be required after 30th June 2006.

Implications for ClearCube prospects

You should immediately identify all outstanding ClearCube prospects and quotes, and work with your ClearCube account executive to accelerate the closure and processing of orders for all end of life products, so they can ship and arrive in Europe before the 30th June 2006. If this cannot be achieved, you will need to work with your ClearCube account executive to re-quote for new products that are or will become RoHS compliant.
