POLE BENDERS ARMS - SECURITY ORDERS

GENERAL SECURITY ORDERS

1. Security orders as detailed in Reference A are to be complied with. In particular the following specific areas of interest are emphasised:

2. Car Parking. All private cars are to be parked at least 25m from all buildings; vehicle passes are to be displayed.

3. Personal Baggage. All briefcases/bags are to be clearly labelled with the owner's name. Any suspicious package is to be reported to the RAF Police immediately.

4. Visitors. Visitors to the club are to be booked onto the airfield via the Main Guardroom.

5. External Lights to Buildings and Barriers. When fitted external lighting on buildings and around barriers is to be left on during the hours of darkness.

CONTROL OF KEY BUNCHES 77/162

6. Key bunches 77/162, held in the Main Guardroom, are to be controlled in accordance with Reference B as follows: a. Key bunches 77/162 may be signed out from the Main Guardroom by BAR Members who appear on the key list on production of RAF Form 1250 or a valid CGC Membership card.(Only members who have signed as having read these Orders will be included on the key list; a new key list will be submitted at 3 monthly intervals). b. Immediately after close down of the Club building, or as soon as possible thereafter, Key Bunches 77/162 are to be returned to the Main Guardroom.

1 CLOSEDOWN CHECKS

7. Fire Prevention Checks. In accordance with References C and D after all members have departed the Club building, the person returning Key Bunches 77/162 is to undertake the following Fire Prevention Checks: a. Ensure all flammable liquids are stored in the authorised POL stores. b. Ensure waste bins and ashtrays are emptied into metal containers outside of the Club building. c. Ensure electrical switches are in the OFF position and plugs are removed (except refrigerators). d. Check that furniture and other combustiles are clear of heaters. e. Check chairs and settees for carelessly discarded smoking materials. f. Ensure all doors and windows are closed. g. Sign as having undertaken the checks on the Chiltern Gliding Club Fire Prevention Check List displayed on the Club Notice Board.

8. Physical Security Checks. The person returning Key Bunches 77/162 to the Main Guardroom is to undertake the following additional Physical Security Checks and is to: a. Ensure all valuable and attractive items are secured. b. Ensure the bar is locked and the shutters secured. c. Ensure that all the equipment in the CGC club kitchen with the exception of the refrigerator and freezer is turned off and unplugged where possible.

MONITORING OF FIRE PREVENTION/PHYSICAL SECURITY CHECKS

9. The House Member is responsible for monitoring the Chiltern Gliding Club Fire Prevention Check List, to ensure the checks are being undertaken and for replacing the check list at the beginning of each month. The format for the chech list is at Annex A. Completed check lists are to be retained for a

2 minimum period of 6 months.
