Committee Name: Awards Chairperson: Cassandra Miller-Hardwick Report Date: 12/21/07 Board Liaison: Lee Raden Committee Members: 2008 Committee members are: Cindy Brown Gwen Childs Kathleen Kareem Donna Gullette Willie Roberts Helen Rominger Completed Activities or Accomplishments for the Year: The incoming Committee Chair was unable to attend the 2007 National Conference due to personal reasons. Outgoing committee chair, Barbara Kiernan submitted the attached minutes of the Awards Committee meeting that was held at the National Conference on 12/20 for inclusion in this report. There were three Awards presented at the 2007 conference: The HIV Prevention Award, the Chapters Award, and the Diversity Award. Planned Activities for the next Quarter or Beyond (Please roughly estimate the # of hours members spend on Committee activities per quarter): The 2008 Awards committee will focus on revamping the overall awards program. The committee will have monthly conference call, starting in January 2008, to insure that all aspects of the Awards program are critically reviewed and a formal proposal for the Awards program is submitted to the BOD for approval. I anticipate that the Awards committee members will spend approx 12 hours per quarter on committee activities. Items to be presented to the Board (i.e. budget changes, other resources needed, policy concerns, etc.): None at this time. Chair anticipates that there will be several items for the BOD to review and approve with the next quarterly report.
