POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Radiology Tech Manager

Date Updated: January 2017

Direct Report: Practice Administrator

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Full-Time

Hours Worked: 40+/week

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Monitors the operational activities of assigned radiology staff and daily operations of outpatient facility while performing radiology procedures and complying with safety and regulatory requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 Three years previous experience as an MRI, CT, Mammography, or Ultrasound Tech.  Three to five years previous managerial/supervisory experience in a healthcare setting preferred.  ARRT license or ACR accreditation requirements must be met for all modalities performed.  Ability to successfully complete essential functions of the job.  Ability to read, understand, write, speak and follow English instructions. Bilingual abilities are preferred.  Display superior interpersonal skills for effective communication with patient and peers  Must have complete competency in standard precautions, aseptic technique, venipuncture and contrast administration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. The following are the essential functions of the job.

Duties: 1. Provide proficient understanding and execution of all essential job duties needed for technical position at PMI. 2. Provide daily technical supervision for all modalities and staff at assigned location. 3. Review payroll for all assigned staff and approve all PTO requests on a weekly basis. 4. Conduct annual performance reviews for all technical staff at assigned location. 5. Monitor staff adherence to policies, procedures and standards of operation and issue disciplinary action as needed. 6. Renewal and updating information for all PMI equipment licenses with the State of Nevada. 7. Communicate with vendors covering linens and service/repairs/maintenance on all equipment at assigned location. 8. Keep pars on inventory supply purchases needed at outpatient centers. 9. Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned. ANALYSIS OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical Demands: Description:

 Standing This position frequently requires standing for short periods of time for patient assessment, positioning patient for procedure, communicating with all facility personnel, faxing, copying and completing other job-related duties.

 Walking This position consistently requires walking short distances of up to 100 yards to communicate with patients, staff, doctors, vendors, and direct report.

 Sitting This position consistently requires sitting to configure and enter data needed for electronic medical charts, diagnostic procedures on a RIS and PACS computer system and other essential job duties.

 Lifting This position frequently requires lifting objects weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. to carry out essential job duties and deal with patients with physical disabilities and/or disorders.

 Carrying This position occasionally requires carrying objects weighing up a maximum of 25 lbs. for short distances to carry out essential job-related duties.

 Pushing This position occasionally requires pushing objects weighing a maximum of 50 lbs.

 Pulling This position occasionally requires pulling objects weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. to assist patients while at the facility for a required procedure and/or perform various job-related functions.

 Reaching This position frequently requires reaching with hands and arms approximately 3 ft. all directions to assist patients while at the facility for a required procedure and/or perform various job-related functions.

 Handing This position frequently requires handing paper, clipboards or objects to patients, staff, doctors, and vendors to carry out essential job duties.

 Bending This position frequently requires bending/leaning from the waist in all directions to carry out essential job duties.

Stooping

 Kneeling This position frequently requires kneeling to assist patients or carry out essential job duties.

 Speaking This position consistently requires excellent verbal abilities to communicate with patients, co-workers, doctors, and vendors on a daily basis.

 HearingThis position consistently requires auditory abilities to efficiently listen to patients, doctors, vendors, co-workers, and staff to carry out essential job duties.

 Seeing This position consistently requires acute visual abilities to perform requested medical procedures, see the computer to enter patient data and document necessary information to become part of the patient’s electronic chart, read patient related documents, physician requests, and other job-related paperwork to carry out essential job duties.

 Depth Perception This position frequently requires depth perception when driving to facilities.

 Peripheral Vision This position frequently requires peripheral vision while driving to facilities.

Color Vision Is this position closely, moderately or minimally supervised? Minimally Explanation: This position is minimally monitored by the Practice Administrator.

Does this position have limited supervisory responsibility (i.e. responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, etc.)? Yes Explanation: This position monitors and oversees assigned facility technologists while providing feedback to the Administration for performance appraisals and disciplinary action.

Does this position have access to confidential information? Yes Explanation: This position has access to confidential information such as social security numbers, dates of birth, and HIPAA information for all patients seen at the outpatient facility.

Does this position have access to or handle company funds? No

Is it important to this position the incumbent be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English? Yes

What kind of work experience (including length of time), training, and/or level of education is necessary for this position? This position must possess skills and abilities to perform each essential job duty proficiently. This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of previous managerial/supervisory experience and 3 years previous tech experience. Multiple experiences/modalities are preferred. Current ARRT license or ACR accreditation requirements must be met for all modalities performed.

List any technical skills (typing, computer skills, etc.): The skills required by this position include, but are not limited to, typing, computer literacy, faxing, scanning, copying, and knowledge of data entry on a RIS and PACS system.

List other special training and/or abilities are necessary to qualify for this position? The person that fills this position must be able to read, write, understand and interpret reports and correspondence in English. The individual must have problem solving and analytical skills to interpret physician requests and relay procedure results to facility physicians. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills needed for daily interpersonal communication with patients, staff, vendors, doctors, and direct report. Bilingual ability is preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions

Are there particular working conditions associated with this position that should be noted (i.e., working environment, hours of work, travel, work space, etc.)? Yes Explanation: The working environment is in a medical office setting that can be moderately loud at times because of the machinery. This position will carry out his/her duties in an average sized workspace. This position requires traveling to all Company facilities. The hours of work may vary depending on the necessity of the facility. Overtime and travel to other locations may be required.
