Finding Newspaper Resources in IUP Libraries Newspapers offer unique and valuable, concise and timely information on nearly every topic. From eyewitness accounts of historical events (primary sources) to resources for genealogical research to current events, they can satisfy the needs of every patron. Here is a list of newspaper resources in IUP Libraries.

Electronic Resources

 Ebsco Host Full-text of over one thousand periodicals and newspapers, the bibliographic references to thousands more, and links to Internet sites and information on local holdings of periodicals. Academic Search Complete and Business Source Premier offer indexing and abstracting of some newspapers. Newspaper Source provides for full text of selected full text articles from 143 US and international newspapers.  Academic and General OneFile Scholarly journals, magazines and newspapers with full text and images!  Academic Universe Full-text database includes the last twenty years of local, national, and international newspapers and many other useful sources.  NewsBank Full-Text Newspapers Complete full-text content of local and regional news, including community events, schools, politics, government policies, cultural activities, local companies, state industries, and people in the community. Paid advertisements are excluded.  The Pennsylvania Gazette 1728-1800 ON-CAMPUS ONLY Published in Philadelphia from 1728 through 1800, The Pennsylvania Gazette is considered The New York Times of the 18th century. It provides the reader with a first hand view of colonial America, the American Revolution and the New Republic, and offers important social, political and cultural perspectives of each of the periods.  Historical New York Times from Proquest Full text and image of the NYT online from 1851-2005.
