The thesis by Ramon Pujades arguing for a late date for the Carte Pisane was set out in 'The Pisana Chart: really a primitive portolan chart made in the 13th century?, Cartes et géomatique, 216 (June 2013): (paper delivered at the international conference, 'D'une technique à une culture: les cartes marines du XIIIe au XVIIIe siècle', Paris 3 December 2012). It is freely available online: http://www.lecfc.fr/new/articles/216-article-3.pdf

The table has been sorted via the penultimate column, i.e. the Pujades page references.

% in a private communication Ramon Pujades provided further information to locate the four names involved.

+ on the Lucca chart south of Fermo, between mariana and torre de palma, there are two semi-legible names. Pujades's reading of the first as No.695 valdaso (first otherwise noted on the 1421 Cesanis chart) is not convincing to me and has therefore not been included in the list of Lucca 'precursor' names. However, he offers a plausible reading of at least the second word of the other name as No.692 bocca bianco (not recorded on a dated work until the 1373 Pizzigani atlas).

# on the Lucca chart, north of Parenzo, Pujades read the name No. 770 ciuitanova d'istria (first noted on the 1367 Pizzigani chart). This may well be correct but I was unable to corroborate it and so have not included it in the list of Lucca 'precursor' names.

Atti della "Quarantaduesima Settimana di Studi", 18-22 aprile 2010 (Florence: Firenze University Press / Fondazione Istituto Internazionale di Storia Economica "F. Datini", 2011) pp.263-87. [He discusses (pp.269-71) his suggested later datings for several key early works. He places the Liber de existencia riveriarum in the 'first decades of the 13th century', rather than the c.1200 proposed by Gautier Dalché (1995), and, from what he considers to be evidence of their post-Pizziganian toponymy, he assigns the Carte Pisane, Cortona and Lucca charts to the second half of the 14th century.]
