IUPUI International Student Checklist for Fall 2010

 Who? Task Description All Take your Placement Tests If required, sign up today for the EAP Test. It will take place tomorrow in Cavanaugh Hall, 3rd floor. Take a pictureIUPUI ID (passportInternational is okay), Student a #2 pencil,Checklist and for a black Fall 2010pen. If you have not already paid the testing fee, please pay $30 at the Student Financial Services office in Campus Center 250. (You will not be able to pay with a credit card.) Be sure to obtain a receipt and take it with you to the test. Test scores will not be released until the test fee is paid.

If required, sign up today for the Math and/or Chemistry Placement Tests. The tests will take place tomorrow in the Testing Center, Union Building, Room G015. Take a picture ID (passport is okay). You should allow 1 hour to take each test. (There is no charge for these tests.)

These tests must be completed before you can register for classes.

Undergrads Attend New Student Academic Orientation If you went through the registration process this morning, you have already been signed up for the New Student Academic Orientation on Wednesday. If you arrived late today and did not sign up, and also did not sign up online, please call Orientation Services at 274-4240 or visit UC 2005. This orientation is mandatory for all undergraduate students. You will not be allowed to register for classes until you have attended this session.

All Select a Health Insurance Plan If you already have health insurance that covers you in the U.S., and it meets the IUPUI standards for international students, complete the online insurance waiver in iStart. See the technology handout for additional information about accessing this function. The deadline for filing a waiver is September 2nd. Late waivers will not be accepted.

Otherwise, you will automatically be enrolled in, and billed for, the IU program. If you have accompanying family members who are currently in the U.S., you must enroll them through the website. (www.aetnastudenthealth.com) Dependent coverage is mandatory .

Undergrads Register for Classes When you attend the New Student Academic Orientation you will meet with an Academic Advisor. You will register for your classes at that time.

Graduates Register for Classes If you have not yet discussed this with your academic department, please contact them as soon as possible. Your department will assist you with registration.

All Get Your Jagtag Visit the Jagtag office and bring a photo ID. Identify yourself as an International Student. They will take your picture, and you will receive your card in about 5 minutes. This office is located in room 217 in the Campus Center.

All Decide if You Want a Mealplan Visit http://food.iupui.edu/meal-plans to review the options. We recommend that you visit the food courts and do some math before you make a decision.

All Locate Your Class Buildings Your class locations will be displayed with your course registration. Each building uses a two letter code. Find the buildings on the map at http://www.iupui.edu/maps/campusmap.htm.

 Who? Task Description All Purchase Your Books Books will be organized by course number. Before you go to the book store, be sure to print out your course schedule and take it with you. The Barnes & Noble bookstore is located on the 1st floor of the Campus Center. Textbooks are on the lower level. Transfer Submit the Transfer Form to OIA Students If you have not already, complete the form you were given with your admission packet. Turn it in
