WorldSkills UK Regional Health and Social Care Competition Partnership Agreement 2016

This partnership agreement is intended to support the successful delivery of a WorldSkills UK regional Health and Social Care competitions 2016. This partnership agreement is between xxx College “the host” and Profiles4Care Ltd, the “competition organising partner”.

The following agreement details the roles and responsibilities of Profiles4Care Ltd and xxx College. Core elements of the heats are covered in this document, however it is acknowledged that there may be some additional roles and responsibilities which arise during the partnership which will need to be accommodated by both parties.

The date of the heats will be XXXXX and the pre-heat visit will take place on XXX May 2016.

1. Host Partner - Cooperation and Management a. Provision of a named person to manage the competition in partnership with the Profiles4Care Ltd named project lead. This person will need to be contactable on a regular basis and committed to the delivery of their heat b. Comply to WorldSkills UK policies, competition rules and terms and conditions c. Interact with Profiles4Care Ltd in the spirit of openness and impartiality, communicating any early warning of issues, concerns and potential difficulties

1.2. Profiles4Care Ltd - Cooperation and Management a. Will provide a named project manager to manage the project in partnership with named host project lead. The project manager will provide ongoing support by telephone, email and face-to- face. b. Will comply to WorldSkills UK policies, competition rules and terms and conditions and identify and communicate early warning of issues and potential difficulties c. Support opportunities and measures to promote the interests of partners d. Interact with all hosts in a spirit of openness and impartiality

2. Host Partner Sponsorship and Finance a. To volunteer all resources listed in this document and notify Profiles4Care Ltd at least 10 days prior to event of availability.

2.1. Profiles4Care Ltd Sponsorship and Finance a. In 2016 Profiles4Care Ltd has produced a range of sponsorship packages to support and promote the competitions. To ensure the significant contribution hosts make is fully recognised they automatically become sponsors in line with that of the financial sponsor. As a sponsors hosts will receive:

 Co-branding on website and other marketing materials for that event, opportunities for web advertising on the competition micro site

 Prizes/certificates branded as ‘co sponsored by’

 Acknowledgements at beginning of event and also at prize giving

b. Profiles4Care Ltd will provide 3 permanent judges who will attend all heats for standardisation and will cover the costs associated with their travel, subsistence and payment. c. All of the above will be done in line with the Profiles4Care Ltd reimbursement policy

3. Host Partner Insurance a. To provide public liability insurance (copy sent to Profiles4Care Ltd prior to heat) b. Provide a health and safety induction to all those attending the competition

4. Host Partner Judges a. Source 10 eligible persons to act as judges and inform Profiles4Care Ltd 28 days prior to the heat so that relevant documents can be sent. Judges should come from the local area and be able to stay for the entire competition, attend a 2 hour briefing the day before and read documents in advance. The Judges will be appointed to the most appropriate task and therefore a brief on their professional background will be required. b. Attributes which a judge should have are as follows: o Specialist expertise in adult social care o Willingness and capacity to be challenged o Willingness and capacity to be impartial o Possess an understanding of standard setting, verification and moderation techniques as well as a close acquaintance with standards as practised within places of work.

4.1. Profiles4Care Ltd Judges a. Provision of 3 mobile judges, 1 for each subjective activity to attend all heats to ensure consistency b. One lead judge to attend all competitions to ensure the activities are run smoothly and consistently c. The lead judge will run a briefing session the day before the competition in the afternoon at the host site d. Send all relevant documents to the host judges in advance for them to read and prepare e. Return and upload all completed documentation and results to Find a Future f. Contact all competitors and ensure their attendance is confirmed

5. Host partner Chaperones and Volunteers a. The provision of :  Two chaperones to escort competitors to and from the competition activities

 One chaperone to act as a runner for judges

 One volunteer to register the competitors in the morning

 One volunteer to act as a person visiting a doctors surgery for Task C

Page 2 of 10 b. All volunteers and chaperones should be:  From the local area

 Not registered as a competitor in the 2016 cycle

 Able to meet the physical and mental demands of the roles outlined above

 Trustworthy, hard working and flexible

 Able to attend for the entire day

c. Named host lead to explain to all 5 people their roles for the day (Task C person will get a separate brief from Competition Director) d. No volunteers or chaperones are permitted to be competitors at any previous or future heats

5.1. Profiles4Care Ltd Chaperones and Volunteers a. Brief chaperones and volunteers on their roles and responsibilities where required for marking b. Be available throughout the day to support volunteers when necessary c. Upload all results into CMS and prepare the awards event listing

6. Host partner Sustainability To ensure the competition’s benefits are maximised it is essential that Profiles4Care Ltd and its host organisations actively develop partnerships and networks of support. As such we ask that hosts:

a. Assist the sustainability by providing a list of a 20 local social care contacts which can be approached regarding attending the competition as delegates to view the competition and attend the awards ceremony. This list should include local dignitaries, MP’s and senior internal staff. These persons contact details along with their job title, organisation, telephone number and email address should be provided to Profiles4care Ltd by the 15 April 2016.

6.1. Profiles4Care Ltd Sustainability a. When necessary will provide advice and support in securing sponsorship and in kind support b. Invite it’s local contacts and other key stakeholders to the awards ceremony c. Endeavour to provide additional resources to enhance the competitions e.g provide Virtual Dementia Tour at applicable sites where possible

7. Host partner Promotion and Marketing Use Profiles4Care Ltd marketing collateral and brand guidelines, to brand any promotional material produced with the Profiles4Care and WorldSkills UK brand in addition your own brand to publicise the competition. Profiles4Care Ltd suggest that hosts create their own marketing plan to:

a. Support the marketing of the opportunity for persons to register their learners and staff for competition to both educational institutions and appropriate sector organisations using your website, e-newsletters and other appropriate organisational channels

Page 3 of 10 Please note: potential competitors from your own organisation are not allowed to enter your heat but, instead they must enter another heat to ensure impartiality.

b. Engage with local media to cover the event

c. To assist in publicising the competition, using both education and employer networks

d. Provide a photographer for two hours during the competition and to be available at the prize giving

7.1. Profiles4Care Ltd Promotion and Marketing a. Provide branding guidance b. Provide collateral to assist with recruitment of competitors and delegates c. Provide signage formats d. Provide company logo, profile and weblinks to Host Sponsors website e. Provide hosts branding on all event collateral f. Provide Host sponsor with opportunity to present award at evening ceremony g. Provide Host sponsor with hard and soft copies of delegate lists h. Provide a USB containing competition photos for post event promotion i. Creation of a press release for use by hosts between 2 to 5 working days after the competition, Profiles4Care Ltd will also distribute this press release j. Will approach the national media about coverage

8. Host partner Resources There are a range of physical resources which are essential for the consistent and successful delivery of each competition. Below is a detailed list of these resources:

Competition activity rooms

 Task A – (Elderly Care) bedroom/home settings x 2 which must be as identical as possible and each room requires:

 A bed with mattress  Appropriately sized a sheet, duvet and duvet cover, pillow and pillow case on each bed  Clean spare sheet, duvet cover and pillow case x 2each  A clothes rail to hang Dressing gown and clothes  Sink with warm water available  Washing bowl x 2  1 bar of soap  one scented liquid soap  4 flannel clothes  4 hand towels  Hand gel  A hand held or portable mirror  1 Drawers/wardrobe/ clothes rail  Hair Brush

Page 4 of 10  10 clothes hangers  Female dressing gown (mature person) x 2  Slippers size small  1 washing basket & 1waste bin  One rug or mat  2 table clothes  2 cups with decent handles  Pack of straws  Anti-spill cup  Kettle  Toaster, prep board, tea towels, roll of kitchen paper  Two drinking glasses for water  Two plates, knives, forks and spoons  Cereal Bowl x 2  One pack of biscuits  A bowl of fruit (Apples, Oranges, Bananas)  Fridge/or make shift fridge/food cupboard  Teabags, Coffee, Milk, Sugar  Margarine/butter, bread, marmalade, jam  2 cartons of juice  6 Yoghurts in date  Variety box of cereal x 2  1 arm chair in each room  3 x clip boards, 12 pens and ream of paper  A4 folder and dividers – Client profile, Care plan, Daily report (book or sheet)  MAR chart with typed details of medication.  10 chairs in each room : o One for the role play o One for the competitor when reading their brief o Three comfortable chairs for the judges o 5 chairs for observers 4/5 tables: o One table for the competitors to read their brief and take notes o One/two tables to comfortably sit 3 judges with paper work o Two tables for the role-play to place the service users personal belongings on o Toothpaste and Brush o 2 reading books, magazine o Photograph in frame of Family Clinical Items:  Blister pack or tablet bottle with pharmacy label and patient information leaflet.  2 empty medication packets (bottles)  Sterile gloves (Small, Med, Large)  Plastic Aprons

 Task B - Learning Difficulties(2 Living rooms which must be identical) and each include:

Page 5 of 10  Gardening Magazines x 2  Blood Glucose monitoring machine C/W test strips  One table & chair for the competitor to read their brief and take notes  One/two tables & 3 chairs to comfortably sit 3 judges with paper work  One table for the role-play to take place  2 comfy chairs for role play  4 A4 pads – 2 in each room with pens  Sink with warm water available or Bowl and water container o Scented liquid soap o 4 hand towels  Drinking Water  2 x drinking glasses  2x packets of biscuits or enough for each competitor to use (6 in each room)  Bottle of squash  4 tea towels  Washing up liquid in each room  4 x clip boards 8 pens and 1 ream of paper  Food magazines (Teenage female)  Calculator  A4 folder and dividers, Profile, daily report, charts to record Blood Monitoring results time/date.  Information / letters from diabetes centre.  Medication blister pack including patient information leaflets.  Cotton wool, sharps box, box of gloves. (to be kept in chest of draws)  Diabetes UK diet leaflets, Recipe books, healthy living leaflets.  Window sill - 2 small flower potted plants.

 Task C - Vital Signs This can take place in a very small room and only requires to have a couch and 3 chairs with a flip chart and the following:

 Weighing Scales  Height measuring equipment  Blood pressure machine Manual (Sphygmomanometer)  Blood pressure machine electronic  Thermometer (tempa-dot disposable)  Stethoscope x 1

 Task D - MCOQ can be held in the competitor holding room after the opening address and prior to any other activities commencing  Classroom set up with individual desks for written test which will seat up to 15 people  Packet of BLUE ball point pens

Please note that in each competition room there must be:

Page 6 of 10  An accurate clock  A waste paper bin  6 black writing pens and lined paper

 A competitor waiting room to accommodate 20 people and include:  20 chairs, around tables  Supply of water, teas, coffee and biscuits throughout the day  Provision of some magazines

 A judges and organisers room to accommodate 20 people and include: a. A boardroom table for 20 people with chairs b. Space to leave 3 or 5 materials boxes, judge’s and organisers bags and coats c. Supply of water, teas, coffee and biscuits throughout the day

 A separate Staff room which will accommodate 5 people for marking and with an internet connection

 Registration area to include:  Two long tables to place competitor packs and other documents  One seat  Registration documents printed out and displayed (provided by Profiles4care)  5 – 10 seats for people to sit on whilst waiting to be escorted to the welcome room

 Welcome space opening brief to include: a. Screen for PowerPoint presentation and IT support on the day b. A stage and podium with microphone (if needed) c. Seats in Rows to accommodate 50 people facing the screen d. 3 chairs next to the stage

 Awards/Reception space to include:  Screen for PowerPoint presentation and someone to assist with IT  A stage and podium with microphone (if possible)  Seats in rows to accommodate 100 people facing PowerPoint/ screen  3 chairs next to the stage  An area behind the seating for drinks and canapés this is to be discussed prior to event and agreed by both parties.

Please note it may be easiest to use the same space for the welcome and awards space and change the room mid day for the awards.

8.1. Profiles4Care Ltd Resources In addition to the resources provided by Profiles4Care Ltd outlined elsewhere in this document we will also provide the following: a. A project coordinator to manage the competition in partnership with named host

Page 7 of 10 b. Profiles4Care Ltd banner stand/s c. Judge’s briefing the day before d. The necessary documents for the judges e. A competition support staff member to assist with management of the competition on the day f. PowerPoint presentation for the welcome and awards ceremony g. Marking schemes, competition briefs and documents h. Laptop and charger for moderation i. Service user’s personal affects i.e. clothing, deodorant, photographs, books j. Role play actors - fully briefed

9. Host partner Equality of Access a. Encourage competition entries based on skills and the eligibility criteria b. Ensure all spaces are assessable for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility c. Ensure hearing loop available for use if required during the welcome and closing ceremony d. Ensure that in all marketing material there is no age, gender or ethnic bias e. Accommodate those with special needs including such things as the provision of gluten free food for those with celiac disease, provision of a prayer room, registration documents printed on yellow paper for those who are dyslexic etc (Profiles4Care Ltd will notify in advance)

9.1. Profiles4Care Ltd Equality of Access a. Make adequate provision for anyone attending with special requirements in collaboration with the hosts b. Encourage entries based on the eligibility criteria c. Have a number of hosts in both metropolitan and rural areas to improve participation. d. Ensure marketing materials encourage both males and females, avoiding stereotypical roles.

All hosts will receive a certificate of recognition and possible marketing opportunity at the Skill Show National Final which will be held at the Skill Show in the NEC Birmingham in November 2016.
