Lotus Flower Meditation, from the Book Birds and Stone by Anastasia Novykh

“ Lotus Flower” meditation, from the book “Birds and stone” by Anastasia Novykh

Max again faced a usual period of despondency, during which he renewed his attempts to grow the “flower”, but all the attempts were unsuccessful. So, he sought for Sensei to cry on his shoulder and searched again for answers for his inconsolable restless questions. - Sensei, where is my mistake? It seems to me, I did everything correct. I calmed down and imagined how I plant a seed in the area of my solar plexus. Then started to “nourish” it with Love, concentrated on positive thoughts in my head… At the beginning, I even felt a light vibration in the area of the solar plexus, imagined how my seed sprouted up… But after few days passed, I felt nothing… I can not even feel that initial warmth… - Of course, when you were doing the meditation with a sincere feeling of Love, you had results. But when you became distracted and tried to do it only with your brain, you failed. It’s natural. “Lotus Flower” is a constant control and constant longing for Love. To grow this flower you must always be in tune for the Love to God and to the whole Universe. You must support this inner feeling regardless of any reversals of fortune. And, I emphasize once more, that you should grow the flower not with your thoughts but with a heartfelt feeling. The very essence of this practice is in awakening of the feeling of Love with its further intensification and, what’s very important, continual maintenance, right up to the physical sensation in the area of the solar plexus. - And why exactly in this area? Does it have any explanation from the viewpoint of human’s physiology? - Max got carried away by his thoughts. Sensei slightly smiled. At this moment, Volodya sat near on the bench. Because it was almost the end of the additional training, the other guys joined as well. - Sure, it can be explained from the viewpoint of human physiology, that is to say, on this very rough and primitive level, - Sensei answered. - But why do you call physiology the very primitive level? - Max asked mockingly, feeling himself in the center of everyone’s attention. - Oh, if you only knew how primitive it is! - Sensei said with a smile. - In reality, a human being is pure physics, sheer formulas of energy’s movements. All of the human’s chemistry results from them. What I am trying to explain you is the easiest way to say it, using your physiological associations. - Well, me too, I would love to listen one more time to this “easiest way to say it” - said Volodya in a deep voice. - Though, I must admit, it’s never superfluous to hear from you this “one more time”, I always learn something new. - I am of the same opinion, - said Stas, a well-built athlete. His friend Eugene, of the same height and size, half-rose from the bench and jockingly solemnly shook the hands of Stas and Volodya. - Absolutely agree with you, gentlemen. - If you say so, - said Sensei, - let’s repeat the lesson from the past. So, all of you know what is a solar plexus. – He glanced at Max, who nodded embarrassingly, without saying a definite yes or no. - Okay, then I’ll explain. This plexus, which is also called a celiac plexus, is a set of nerve knots of different size and form. They all are connected with the help of a great number of communicating branches, also of different length and thickness. The plexus varies greatly not only by the number of nerve trunks connected to it and knots that it contains, but by the form of this powerful conglomeration as well. In its center, the solar plexus resembles connected apexes of a triangle. And, according to its overall form, most often it resembles an irregular circle, because the nerves diverge radially right and left to the organs of the abdominal cavity, like rays go from the sun. Naturally, many nerve endings are located there. The solar plexus is one among the biggest autonomic plexes. It’s even called “celiac brain”. So, what happens when someone is doing the spiritual practice of “Lotus flower”? If we figuratively project the process of inner energies’ circulation on the human’s physiology, then we’ll receive a following picture. When a person purposefully concentrates his attention on the solar plexus with (what’s extremely important) positive feeling, then he stimulates nerve endings, including nervus vagus (also called vagus nerve) which is one of the twelve couples of cranial nerves. I want to emphasize that in the formation of the solar plexus, as its parasympathetic part, both right and left vagus nerves take part. Moreover, the plexus contains for its most part the common posterior vagal trunk of both vagus nerves. After vagus nerve’s stimulation, the signals from it pass to the cerebrum. And, after passing through distributive nodes, these signals get to the hypothalamus… … Let’s return now to the beginning. What happens while practicing “Lotus Flower”? When stimulation of the vagus nerve, caused by such a concentration of positive feelings, gets to hypothalamus, then these nerve signals go further through both of the centers. And, at the same time, with more intensive stimulation of agathodaemon, there happens less intensive stimulation of cacodaemon. When a person stimulates agathodaemon with such type of energy, that is, with “Love” energy, then he feels bliss and all-embracing joy. Now, let’s regard Max’s case. Actually, all the beginners go through something similar. If a person loosens his attention or switches it completely to his animal feelings, then immediately a burst happens due to the simultaneous stimulation of cacodaemon. It becomes apparent, first of all, by the appearance of negative thoughts and negative emotions. They cause, in turn, doubts. And when you further reinforce these thoughts, then, please pay your attention, as a result of such a synthesis, the stimulation of number of other nervous system’s centers happens. Because of such stimulation, a person falls into depression; he becomes dispirited or even aggressive. So, the process of concentrating your attention on the negative thoughts even worsens, thus stimulating the cacodaemon even more. It is a vicious circle. And, thus, a person gets again into the net of his animal nature. - And how can this vicious circle be broken? - asked Max. - That’s the very point! Human’s brain from the birth is tuned on the frequency of his animal nature, though it’s the most primitive program out of all that he has. Cacodaemon is almost always stimulated by a person who lives an ordinary life and does not work on his spirituality. That’s why, in an individual like that, such feelings as envy, anger, hatred, greediness, self-interest, jealousy, fear, egoism, etc. are persistently present. In some people, they are more apparent, in some less. But, day after day, these people like dogs are chasing and biting their own tail and suffer even more from the pain of this bite. They extremely rarely stimulate agathdaemon and usually for only a short period of time. And this happens together with a further suppression of this positive burst by a more developed cacodaemon. However, people, following a spiritual path, purposefully stimulate agathodaemon. What does it lead to? Let’s take, in particular, “Lotus flower” practice, because exactly the pattern of its work is a result of any spiritual path which leads to the same inner Gate. Thus, if you practice “Lotus flower” in the right way, if you control emotions, thoughts, and power of your attention, if you try most of the time or, better, permanently to stay in Love, and to locate this feeling in the area of the solar plexus, then you can achieve the following results. Constant stimulation of agathodaemon intensifies its work, activating certain mechanisms that suppress minor stimulation of cacodaemon… It’s pure physics, so I won’t go into incomprehensible for you details. In short, to explain it figuratively, again with the help of physiology, there happens something like full or partial inhibition of cacodaemon’s area. As a result, energy is released. This energy dramatically reinforces agathodaemon, which further leads to a burst, actively stimulating work of pineal gland. It’s also called epiphysis or pineal gland. Exactly due to the work of epiphysis in the renewed conditions, that is, due to the change of wave frequency, a spiritual vision is opened in a person, or a “Third Eye” as it’s called in the East. And this, in turn, leads to awakening of enormous powers of the soul. A person does not simply change inwards, a fount of pure knowledge and realities of the highest worlds are revealed for him…
