RE: REMEMBRANCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
To Whom It May Concern,
1. The young man or woman standing before you is a member of 62 Phantom Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets. This youth based program is suited for cadets’ ages 12-18 yrs old, with a focus on Citizenship and Leadership.
2. On Friday November 11th, 62 Squadron will be participating in three Remembrance Day Celebrations; one in Jordan, one in Grimsby and Smithville respectively. These parades commence at 1000hrs for the cadets and their involvement will not end until after lunch as the cadets are invited to the legions to talk with veterans.
3. As the Commanding Officer of the Squadron, I consider the cadets education as their number one priority, however we request that you consider the cadet before you individually and if you agree; grant permission for this cadet to miss school to attend these services. We feel that the symbolism and life skills the cadet will take away from participating in the parade will be with the cadet for years to come, helping them become a better citizen in the community as a whole.
