Els moderator WS 2: Hello Mino, welcome in this chat group helene moderator: mino moved to the other workshop lucy12: no, I`m not, that’s why I am here today, I want to get involved Els moderator WS 2: Very good lucy -and are u getting any wider? Els moderator WS 2: wiser? lucy12: yes, I`m trying to.. Els moderator WS 2: I would suggest you to take contact with Romanian national agency, but the problem is that it was closed down for months Els moderator WS 2: I don't know if it is operational again... lucy12: this is the main problem in my country.. lucy12: but we`ll join the eu and things will change..right? Els moderator WS 2: I really hope that for you!!!! lucy12: so,will I have the opportunity to enter international projects? lucy12: or to propose a project? Els moderator WS 2: maybe you should try to apply for a training course on inclusion or other topic Els moderator WS 2: see training calender SALTO Els moderator WS 2: Yes when there is an agency you can apply for projects there Els moderator WS 2: but untill then you can pariticpate in internationale activities lucy12: ok,but an inclusion project...can I propose for example a new one? Els moderator WS 2: yeah that is possible in the Youth programma of th EU *** User muratmd has left the chat. *** Els moderator WS 2: the newer the projects are, the more they like it usually lucy12: where can I express my suggestions for inclusion? Els moderator WS 2: well you can start here... Els moderator WS 2: all the suggestions that come here will be reported to European Commission lucy12: ok,great! lucy12: can you create a website about inclusion where youth could post articles? lucy12: and meet and discuss with officials of the eu *** User Tech has entered the chat. *** helene moderator: welcome tech Els moderator WS 2: on the SALTO website again you can post some things Els moderator WS 2: but its very limited for the moment Els moderator WS 2: your idea is brought up here in the group Els moderator WS 2: it will be taken into account lucy12: ok, thanks .i have other ideas too... Els moderator WS 2: okay they are very welcome lucy12: could you ask youth from all countries submit real life stories and then decide how to help solve those concrete problems? Els moderator WS 2: Also from the other people that are still in this room and quiet silent for the moment... Els moderator WS 2: sorry guys for having left you for a while :-))) *** User Mel has entered the chat. *** helene moderator: you are in mel Mel: yes Els moderator WS 2: do you have contacts with organisations in other countries lucy? Els moderator WS 2: Hello Mel, welcome in the chat room Mel: thanx lucy12: I have, but there are not my contacts, it’s my org that has the contacts Els moderator WS 2: and you don't get the possibility to join international activities? Mel: could u update me what we are discussing right now since the sound is not clear Els moderator WS 2: we are discussing on how to improve SALTO inclusion work in the future Els moderator WS 2: you know SALTO? lucy12: I might get, but I want to know that these opportunities are available to more youth *** User Mel has left the chat. *** Els moderator WS 2: it would be good if you could meet other people in other countries Els moderator WS 2: I can only encourage you to apply for an international training lucy12: yes, this is the essence :meet or discuss Els moderator WS 2: check out the SALTO training calendar *** User Tom has left the chat. *** Els moderator WS 2: it might be a very good start to get things rolling lucy12: ok, but what about youth who are not memb of any org and never heard of salto? Els moderator WS 2: for the moment here in the group we are inventarising ideas for international trainings on inclusion Els moderator WS 2: well, people that come into SALTO activities are seen as multipliers, lucy12: these trainings will be for youth? Els moderator WS 2: so if you join a training you will have the question there Els moderator WS 2: how you think you can multiply the knowledge you had out of the training Els moderator WS 2: and they help you there to set up strategies Els moderator WS 2: SALTO trainings are mostly for youth workers lucy12: can all categories of youth take part? lucy12: what about the financial matter? Els moderator WS 2: what you mean with all categories? evi: thats very interesting lucy12: how are youth workers selected and what do they do after the training? Els moderator WS 2: SALTO trainings most of the time you get travel costs reimbursed Els moderator WS 2: and pax fee is very low lucy12: all categories meaning also poor, disabled, etc Els moderator WS 2: yes all categories Els moderator WS 2: selection is on contecnt Els moderator WS 2: you apply and write a motivation Els moderator WS 2: there will be a 'multiplier' check evi: what about if u r not part of an organization? lucy12: and after the training *** User Mel has entered the chat. *** Els moderator WS 2: After SALTO training we expect from pax that they play their role as multiplier Els moderator WS 2: and it works most of the time Els moderator WS 2: lots of new international projects are born in these international trainings Mel: what about the commitments to realize these projects Els moderator WS 2: not in an organisation - is not necessary but u should have a link with youngsters lucy12: i see..and at this moment do you have many youth workers involved in projects Els moderator WS 2: be youth worker, social worker, in school, ... evi: ok Els moderator WS 2: commitments: not every intention becomes a real project that's for sure Els moderator WS 2: but the first contact is made, and even if its not the same year lucy12: what it takes for a project to become real? Els moderator WS 2: some things happen later on Mel: what about the role of SALTO to support our inclusion initiatives Els moderator WS 2: can you tell me more mel about 'your inclusion initiatives Mel: I would like to do or those I did before? Els moderator WS 2: project to become real: needs loads of motivation, good partnerships, follow up, involvement of young people that believe in it,... Mel: and money as well? Els moderator WS 2: both, I just try to get an idea on what level u are carrying out inclusion initiatives Mel: unfortunately NA's and SALTO mostly disappear after such events according to my experience Els moderator WS 2: SALTO doesn't give money, its EC that has money for international youth projects lucy12: Mel, what do you mean? Mel: we need first to see how NA's are ready to support us Els moderator WS 2: in which country are you Mel lucy12: so what salto does is only training Mel: I study in Germany but I live in Syria Els moderator WS 2: yes lucy that’s right: training, booklets, tools, information... Els moderator WS 2: Ha u were there too yesterday of course! lucy12: and not funds, nor reports? Mel: I did three inclusion projects and it was as if I'm asking money from the pockets of personnel at NA's Els moderator WS 2: exactly - but there is this link with the EC money Mel: yes i was here yesterday lucy12: so can salto propose a new youth law in the eu for example Els moderator WS 2: EC gives money, SALTO tells you how you can set up projects Mel: I don’t worry about money since I have links with many donors Els moderator WS 2: no SALTO has no political role Mel: but instead of proposing, we need to focus on core projects to realise Els moderator WS 2: they only give bit of advice to EC lucy12: salto can’t forward youth` opinions to the eu Els moderator WS 2: well they forward ideas, but the example you gave like 'new youth law' that's too far lucy12: ok,i see.the ec is the European Commission, right? Els moderator WS 2: Mel, 3 inclusion projects - you're right its very often depending on people on how you are followed and supported Els moderator WS 2: EC = European Commission yes Mel: but they were the first in Euro-Med region Els moderator WS 2: yeah but here the same _ people... Mel: I would ask SALTO INCLUSION to make a database of all inclusion projects so we could exchange experience and make links among people working on same p Mel: projects lucy12: good idea Els moderator WS 2: okay I'll bring it in now lucy12: and to add a few contacts for those interested in getting in touch Mel: just may be the same orgs working on the same project but with different NA's Mel: who is the guy talking now Els moderator WS 2: Tony responsable for SALTO inclusion Mel: ok Mel: have u raised my point Els moderator WS 2: didn't have the chance yet - but it is in big on the screen Els moderator WS 2: try to get the attention of Tony :-) Els moderator WS 2: are u listening Tony is answering Mel: I cant hear very well so u need to update me via chat *** User Mel has left the chat. *** Els moderator WS 2: EC special calls for innovative projects - they put them all in a dbase Els moderator WS 2: seems topic is on social inclusion this year Els moderator WS 2: Mel, you left? lucy12: social inclusion means ..? *** User Mel has entered the chat. *** Els moderator WS 2: get people/youngsters involved in social life (youth work, cultural activities, ...) and ALL young people Els moderator WS 2: all categories of people Els moderator WS 2: ls moderator WS 2: EC special calls for innovative projects - they put them all in a dbaseEls moderator WS 2: seems topic is on social inclusion this lucy12: does this mean ending discrimination Mel: ELS just I missed some, pls update me Els moderator WS 2: yeah you were gone when I was typing an answer to your suggestion ;-) Els moderator WS 2: so it is above now: EC has special calls for innovative projects and they all put them in a dbase Els moderator WS 2: topic this year is social inclusion so you can find there already some possible partners Mel: but this innovative calls are really need time and a lot of efforts Mel: I'm back now Els moderator WS 2: ending discrimination makes part of social inclusion yes lucy12: so will youth be taught how to stop discriminating? Els moderator WS 2: yes that’s true but you were looking for ideas dbase and organisations and that is already one existing Els moderator WS 2: but we keep the suggestion in mind to have this youth dbase Mel: I wanted to submit app on minorities for innovative project but they needed a lot of documents which the hosting organization can not offer Mel: OK, youthdbase is a good initiative to work on so we know if other guys are doing similar work or not lucy12: aside of the youthdbase can we have chats like this one more often Els moderator WS 2: yeah I admit that this is really very good Mel: that would be cool, Els moderator WS 2: it was experiment, but we will evaluate and i think would be good to have it on more training courses Els moderator WS 2: The working group is ending now Mel: and what about initiatives with partner countries like Meda, LA, CIS Els moderator WS 2: there will be reports and everything on the salto website Els moderator WS 2: our group waved goodbye to you!!!! Mel: ciao adriana: bye bye Mel: it was a nice discussion lucy12: bye and thanks Els moderator WS 2: People thanks a lot for your contributions it was very interesting. We keep you updated!!!! Mel: OK, cheers everyone Els moderator WS 2: you can chat further on in the lobby room, this will stay open!!! lucy12: thanks *** User adriana has left the chat. **
