FADE IN: DT4476 Video: (((Announcer voice over))) Sonic manual transmission When was the last time you drove one of these? Standard. Clutch. Stick. Many people today never learn to drive one. And most of us who have learned, haven’t had to “shift gears” in years. But according to Edmunds.com, the sales of manual transmission cars are up – way up - double the amount from 5 years ago.

Soundbite 1 – John Buttermore, (((Suggested Soundbite))) Chevrolet We are seeing an increase in sales in manual transmissions, due to the fact that they are less expensive, return better fuel economy. And with the latest technological advances, could be easier and more fun to drive than in the past.

Video: Stay Clutch event; in the cars ((Voice Over))) with SC contestants So Chevrolet, makers of the new Sonic, brought some potential buyers here to Baseball’s All- Star weekend to compete in “Stay Clutch.” The idea was to get through an obstacle course driving – you guessed it - a stick.

Sportscaster – MLB Network I like the idea that if they are driving they are not typing or texting or calling or watching a video or something else. So I think that ‘s a good trend for kids. And you know it’s fun to drive. Sticks now are so much better. I mean I’m driving this now, it’s nothing like it was when I was learning how to drive a stick. Everything is nice and smooth and tight.

Soundbite 3 – John Buttermore, (((soundbite))) Chevrolet The progressive clutch on the all-new Chevrolet Sonic has a nice smooth blend feature, so as the driver releases the clutch pedal it as a very smooth engagement, giving them a very smooth start.

The hill start assist on the Chevrolet Sonic really helps out a novice driver and a professional. When you come to a stop, use our brake pedal to apply pressure and then the car will not roll back even after you release the brake for 2 seconds, which takes a lot of stress off driving a manual

(((voice-over))) Video As the Stay Clutch Ultimate Prize Winner, Jeff Rothenberg, picked up 2 tickets to the World Series. Chevy says that currently 20% of Sonic sales are manual transmissions, and at around $15,000, they’re as easy on the bank account as they are to drive. I’m XXX.
