CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT

Milage rates have changed as of 01/07/16 to petrol 21p and Diesel 19 ppm. We have received an email from Chris Bell at HMRC regarding Lawress Hall gym. James Street (CSSC) was visiting Lawress Hall 06/07/16 to set up an agreement with Lawress Hall management and a 3rd party (14/40) re transfer of running of the gym and its equipment. No information received re meeting at present so we are not aware how this will affect future CSSC gym membership. HMRC is moving from Tritton Road to Lawress hall in January until 2020

TREASURER’S REPORT

Our balance stands at £2160 with the second part of the grant expected in July, the accounts have now been signed off by Head Office. We have paid for 8 Summer extravaganza, National Trust and Gym SECRETARIES REPORT

It has been agreed that people booking events must pay in full at least 2 weeks before the event. Gill and Julie met regarding Quality Street prior to the meeting with Julie and Michele our score was 30/36. Points that came out of the meeting : Pleased with the range of activities Development of relationships with other areas to reduce the duplications duplication and add value to members Investigate sporting opportunities to increase range on offer Increase membership across different departments. A note to all members that the web site links are down and subsistence claim forms can be obtain via email to the Secretary

REGION UPDATE

Regional update sent by Dudley that region were now holding the Grimsby grant £800 of which is to sponsor the Grimsby netball team. The next regional conference will take place 11th/12th November

Conference 13th/14th June Sue attended as delegate for us, with Gill as observer, items of interest from the conference and workshops were:

Digital project, new website, online joining, booking & payments national & regional. Automated e-tickets, my CSSC update own details & volunteers to update & edit own micro sites. English Heritage extended to 2018.

New for 2016 Merlin Entertainments – discounts for entries to theme parks Free entry to CADW Welsh English Heritage My Active – free CSSC smart phone app Commercial activities - £300k surplus 2015 Sports & Leisure Group - £768k profit 2015 Corporate emails addresses for officers Planned – data security awareness, volunteer database, trip planning guidelines, more volunteer branded items, central resources e-newsletter, family days. Note that membership of CSSC is open to employees of public sector, local & central government, NHS, police etc. Taster days funded by H O open to all areas (members ideas welcomed) My Active & Health Rewards, National Park run Challenge Tastecard 2 for 1 meals (members need to register) Subscriptions for 2017 to rise by 15p to £47.40 yearly - £3.95 pm

Golf Event: Event is going ahead organised by Graham Metcalfe more details when known

‘Simply Red’, Doncaster Racecourse, Saturday 13th August. Due to cancellations, Sue now has 5 tickets left for the event, with 7 places left on the coach as 2 people are making their own way. Contact Sue urgently if wishing to book.

Scarborough Day Trip, Saturday 20th August. Bookings to Joan by 3rd August with payment in full. Coach to leave HMRC Lincoln at 8 am, picking up in Gainsborough at Heaton St bus stop at approx. 8.40 am. Posters out with next ‘What’s On’.

Newark Ghost Walk, Friday 18th November. Starts 7pm, 1 hour duration. £5 cost, but no poster yet until transport arrangements finalised. More details next meeting.

Whitby Goth Weekend, Saturday 5th November-DAY TRIP. As last year, Jules Close-Mitchell to organise. Cost will be £9.30 members and £15.50 non-members. Leave HMRC Lincoln at 8 am as usual. Poster to follow.

Other Trips/Events: ‘The Deep’ at Hull is still a possibility in September/October, with Debra Shaw or Julie as a possible organiser. £200 has been allocated for this.

Chatsworth Christmas Fayre Saturday 26th November is still being dealt with by Averil and Cheryl; more details hopefully at next meeting.

Doddington Hall Christmas Party, Saturday 10th December. Gill has 50 seats available for this, with bookings to be made via her landline after 6 pm. Cost will be £26.40 for members, £44 non members. The Hall required a £200 deposit for thisevent which has been paid.

‘Targeted4All’ Bardney Events Package: ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE TRAINING EXPERIENCE September 24th 10:00 am This is a National Taster Day open to all areas. The event consists of a 2.5 hour experience that incorporates Archery, Axe Throwing & Air Rifles but has a competitive element and uses zombie related targets, £15 members £25 non members. As an upgrade the air rifles can be replaced with a pump action shot gun aiming at exploding zombie heads £25 members £45 non members. More details and entry form on the CSSC website.

Summer Extravaganza: Sue has forecast £240 allocated for this, running from 1st June to 31st August. As previous years, usual Terms and Conditions apply; all subsidies to be claimed by 30th September latest, and subsidy restricted to a maximum of £20 per member, with 25% discount on various events including Theatre, Music Events, Sports Fixtures etc Subsidy excludes any travel, holidays, meals or any CSSC-subsidised event, and receipts/entry tickets must be included with the claim. The committee reserves the right to withdraw the subsidy if demand outstrips our funds.

Local Shows: Excluding the above offer, we are offering a 25% discount on local shows such as the Heckington Show. Proof of purchase/admission tickets required with claim. Christmas Shopper/Day Trip, Saturday 3rd December: As we have had various ideas for the venue this year, Joan suggests we put this to the vote and asked Pat Linstead to put out a ‘straw poll’ to all our members – Julie to forward this to Pat with a choice of either London, York or Birmingham, with responses required by the end of June.
