Regarding the fee for meetings:

 There is no meeting charge for WDA members (you may even join the night of the meeting for $20). WDA provides the forms for continuing education (CE) credits.  RDs and DTRs who are not ADA members* are welcome to attend and obtain CE credits for a $10 fee.  Allied professionals and those specifically interested in meetings are welcome to attend for a $5 fee.  Students in related fields of study are welcome to attend at no charge and are eligible for membership at a discounted rate of $5/year.
