RECEPTIONIST – Citizen Advice Stroud and Cotswold Districts What do our receptionists do?

Receptionist Role As a receptionist you will be the first point of contact for clients on drop-in sessions. It is a dual role, working with clients in the Reception area and with staff and advisers in the office. Receptionists work at our main offices in Stroud and Cirencester and also at our outreaches including Dursley, Berkeley, Nailsworth and Wotton under Edge. The role is flexible; ideally you are available at least one half day per week.

Main Duties  Greeting Clients  Managing the waiting room.  Preparing interview rooms before sessions start.  Answering the Adviceline telephone (when an Adviser is not available), taking client’s details and explaining an Adviser will call them back.  Inputting client details onto the Citizens Advice computer database.  Dealing with enquiries and paperwork.  Arranging appointments for clients using an Excel spreadsheet. (Stroud only)  Phoning clients for appointment reminders.  Photocopying and filing  Other admin duties as required.

Person Receptionists need to be friendly, approachable, tactful and able to deal with all different types of people. You need to have the ability to work in a busy, sometimes pressured environment and be comfortable using computer systems. You will need to be able to maintain confidentiality about clients and their contact with the bureau and be committed to the aims and policies of the CAB service.

Hours At the office in Stroud Start at 9.45am – finish at 4pm on either Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Morning/afternoon sessions are available. At the office in Cirencester 9.45am – 1.00pm or 12.45am – 4.00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

At Outreaches Dursley – Either Monday 9:45am – 1pm or Friday 9:45am – 12:00 noon. Please ask about the days/hours at our other outreaches.
