Death Valley Running Races

DEATH VALLEY 100

PARTICIPANT’S GUIDE

AUGUST 3-4, 2002

Death Valley 100 DESCRIPTION

The Death Valley 100 mile endurance run will be held August 3, 2002. The spectacular course showcases the best of Death Valley National Park and includes stunningly beautiful Titus Canyon and its 27 miles of dirt roads. 73 miles will be held on paved roads and have been coordinated to minimize automobile traffic. Runners will be self- sufficient and will have one crew vehicle to supply dedicated aid and support. Heat management will be a primary challenge as temperatures exceed 120-130 degrees F, making Death Valley 100 the “World’s Hottest Hundred.”
