1. Area 14 Grass Roots – open to Teams of 3 or 4 members from each club. 3 teams from each club. (Where possible, time permitting we will endeavour to accommodate more if we are able)

Entry Fee: £15 per competitor Prizes: Rosettes to 10th – team medals to winning team, Prize for the best under 12. Scoring: Teams of 3 /4 may enter; best 3 scores count, run under Pony Club 2016 Show jumping Rules. Riders compete as team. Number to Qualify The top 10 teams from each Area in Show Jumping will qualify for the Regional Championships. Each team will have either 3 or 4 members. If a qualified team chooses not to enter the Regional Championships the qualification will pass down the line to the next placed team Please note this is a team event only.

All classes will be run in accordance with the 2016 Pony Club Show jumping Rules NO dogs preferable - if present must be kept on a hand held tight leash. Open to any aged member with any size horse or pony.

Eligibility Rules -Open to any age of Member (Branch or Centre) with any size of horse or pony. -Riders must be fully paid up Members of The Pony Club, but with no restriction on time of joining. The 14 month exclusion as part of the Transfer Rule does not apply to the Regional Championships (grassroots).

-Saddlery and Dress Rules are as per the current Discipline Rule Books.

-Show Jumping - Combination to have no British Show Jumping recorded results at 90cm or above.

- If they have competed in Dressage at Intermediate or Open level previously, then they are NOT eligible for a Regional Championship Qualifier (grassroots) in any discipline.

-At the time of the Area (grassroots) competition rider must not have previously represented their Branch or Centre at Novice level or above in any of Dressage, Show Jumping or Eventing Area Competitions.

EXCEPT for 2016, a Member who has represented their Branch or Centre at Novice level dressage in 2015 or previous years may compete in (grassroots) Show Jumping. -If a Rider qualifies for the Grassroots Regional Championships in one discipline, they will subsequently in the same year be allowed to ride at Novice level in another discipline as long as they did not compete in that discipline at Grassroots level. E.G Rider qualified for Dressage Grassroots Regional Championship, therefore they can compete in the later Area qualifier for Novice Show Jumping or Eventing as they only represented the Branch in dressage at the Grassroots Area qualifier.

Warm Up Will run as follows: 1 team competing, 1 team waiting, 2 teams practising. The jumps in the warm up arena WILL NOT exceed height of jumps in the ring. Tack /Turnout run according to current PC Rules 2016 – please make sure you ride in accordance with these rules. Please ensure you walk in the parking areas, if found not doing so you may be asked to leave the site. The Judges decision is final. Any objection to be put in writing together with a deposit of £15 and forwarded to the Secretary within 20 minutes of the incident. If your objection is upheld your deposit will be refunded.

Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.

2. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards.

3. All non Pony Club competitors are not covered by The Pony Club insurance and must have their own third party cover. The Syston Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non Members and their insurance will not cover you.
