College and University News:

 The Disaster Research Center (DRC) at the University of Delaware has announced that as of January 1, 2011 Dr. James Kendra will become the new Director. Professor Kendra will also join the faculty of the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy where he will be actively involved in the new graduate program in Disaster Science and Management. Professor Kendra is currently Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of the Emergency Administration and Planning Program in the Department of Public Administration at the University of North Texas.

INWEM and the Diversity Focus Group will co-host a “Women Leaders in Emergency Management” panel discussion with the Diversity Focus Group on Monday November 1, 2010 from 11am - Noon. This discussion will focus on the accomplishments and achievements of women as leaders in emergency management and the concerns and challenges of women in emergency management.
