APPLICATION CRITERIA ~ REQUIRED:

*Nebraska Resident *Full time Nebraska senior high school student, or currently attending college. *Minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5 (NE Fire Chief’s Association is 3.0) *Proof of Acceptance into a college or trade school as a full time student and his/her field of study must be fire service related. *Submit two (2) Letters of Recommendation (excluding immediate family members) *If you are currently a high school senior you must submit a letter from the high school counselor verifying grade point average, class rank, and enrollment in college and include your high school transcripts. *In 500 words or more (typed): Explain his/her educational goals and career objectives.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNTS:

Butch Doyle/NSFSI = $750.00 NE Fire Chief’s Association = $500.00 Bill Meehan Scholarship = $500.00 The people chosen to receive the scholarship will receive a check directly from the Chairperson of the scholarship committee on the night of the NSFSI Annual Meeting. The scholarship check will be made payable to the recipient.

SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS:

The recipients will be selected by a committee appointed by the Nebraska Society of Fire Service Instructors, the Nebraska Fire Chiefs Association, and a representative From FireGuard Inc.

Three scholarships will be awarded, all selections are final and the winners will be notified by phone. The scholarships will be given at the Annual Meeting at the Les Lukert Mid-Winter Conference on February 3, 2017 at 7:00 pm.; you do not have to attend this meeting to be awarded a scholarship.
