Completion of all coursework (54 semester hours, minimum of 39 Student & semester hour residency at CSU) with a minimum of a 3.5 GPA and no Advisor more than one grade of C or below
Register for EDUF 8000, Comprehensive Examinations Student
Complete Application for Comprehensive Exams form (See Appendix I. Student, Copies to student, student’s file, Doctoral Committee Chair, Advisor, & Comprehensive Examination Chair.) Committee Chair Select Doctoral Committee and Committee Chair (at least 3 members) Student, (See Appendix H: Doctoral Dissertation Committee Appointment Form. Advisor & Copies to student and Committee Chair and Members; Original to Committee Program Chairperson to obtain Dean’s and Department Chair’s Chair signatures and file in students’ file.)
Prepare 2 – 3 page dissertation prospectus, including brief theoretical Student & background and preliminary research design and submit it to committee Committee for approval. (Preparation of the prospectus is one of the requirements of EDUF 8129.)

Copies to student and Doctoral Committee Chair.)
Upon successful completion of comprehensive examinations and defense Student, Chair, of the dissertation proposal, the Doctoral Committee completes & All Dissertation Proposal Defense Approval and Admission to Candidacy Committee form. (Copies to student, Committee Chair; original to Program Members Coordinator to obtain signatures and place in student’s file. Program Chair will change candidacy status in ISIS.)
Degree Candidacy Period Responsibilities:
Submission of proposal for review by CSU Institutional Review Board Student & (IRB) with IRB Form (See Appendix O). Chair Completion of dissertation Student & Chair Submit Application for Dissertation Defense to Doctoral Committee Chair Student & (See Appendix L. Copies to student, student’s file, and Committee Chair.) Chair
Post notification of Dissertation Defense (Use Application for Dissertation Student & Defense form, Appendix L.) Chair Successful defense of dissertation and approval of dissertation by Student & Doctoral Committee. (Final Approval of Dissertation form, Appendix M, Chair completed by Doctoral Committee. Copies to student, student’s file, and Committee Chair) Graduation Responsibilities:
Submission of dissertation to the Office of COEHP Graduate Studies Student
Apply to graduate with Office of Enrollment Services (online) Student
Approval of dissertation by Office of COEHP Graduate Studies Graduate Director Submit dissertation for binding (pay binding fees) Student
Submit copy to COEHP Graduate Studies and copy to Doctoral Committee Student Chair Complete Degree Progress Sheet and submit to the appropriate persons Student and for signatures and then to the Registrar’s Office. Chair
Submit electronic copy to Schwob Library for Proquest (pay fee) Student
