Barb will be looking for a new editor/co-editor, as she is now coordinator-elect. She stated that 2 persons could serve as co-editors. Barb presented an award to Jean Rosiak, our nominee for the NP SIG Newsletter article of the year for her piece entitled “From Expert to Novice and the Long Road Back”. Barb handed out a survey to the members for input regarding their topics of interest for future newsletters. Our newsletter publishes three times a year and is a great way to be published. 3. Heather Greene volunteered to take this over. 5. Mentorship - Kathy Sharp coordinated with ONS to create our new mentoring program. She gave an update on the progress that has been made with the online NP SIG mentorship program. She expressed thanks to Diane Scheuring from ONS for the assistance she has provided with this project. 6. Nominating - No real responsibilities until 2007. A new request was presented for the workgroup to consider regarding special awards for SIG members for their outstanding activities or publications. Might also work to seek sponsorship for a yearly NP award, like radiation SIG. 7. Educational - Need a chair, will submit topics for Congress, IOL, and APN conference. 8. Meeting Planning - Candace Schiffer, coordinator; plans/coordinates meeting at Congress and APN conference. She has suggested supporting a local city charity at the sponsor city. 9. Strategic Planning - This group is seeking volunteers to review and suggest changes in the NP SIG. This group reports to the coordinator. 10. Special Project - A book and a brochure are to be developed by this group. The book is entitled “So You Want to be an Oncology NP”. The editor will be Wendy Vogel. The second is an oncology NP brochure. A third brochure was suggested/planned entitled “Weeding the Web for Oncology Patients”. Funding is needed for this but it is hoped that a special SIG grant might be obtained. Volunteers for this workgroup include Joyce Marrs, Kathy Sharp, and Heather Greene.
