Dear 9th, 10th and 11th Grade Students and Families, The 2017 PSAT/NMSQT and the PSAT 8/9 will be administered at Ansonia High School on October 11, 2017. It is our expectation that every student in the 10th and 11th grade will take the PSAT/NMSQT on this date, and every student in the 9th grade will take the PSAT 8/9 on this date. The Official Student Guide to the 2017 PSAT/NMSQT and an official practice test have been distributed to 10th and 11th grade students in their advisory. Students should review this guide carefully. The PSAT/NMSQT also serves as the qualifier for the National Merit Scholarship Program, which includes academic competitions for recognition and college scholarships. This competition is only available for current 11th graders, and simply taking the test enters a student into the competition. For all 9th graders, the Official Student Guide to the 2017 8/9 PSAT can be found here: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/pdf/psat-8-9-student-guide-2017-18.pdf. Your advisory teacher has also received a copy and can share it with you. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the test by reviewing the guide carefully. AUTOMATIC SIGN UP Every student is automatically registered for the test so there is no need for you to "sign up" or to "register" prior to the exam.
SCORE REPORTING AND INTERPRETATION The College Board plans to release scores in mid-December, alerting students using the email address they provide on test day on their answer sheet. SAT Khan Academy and The College Board have partnered to provide free online test prep resources for the SAT that can be tailored based on your PSAT score report. In 3 easy steps, you can have personalized SAT practice in order to ensure your best possible scores: 1. www.satpractice.org – Create a Khan Academy account or sign in to your existing account. 2.
