Progress Reporting Policy

PROGRESS REPORTING POLICY

DEFINITION Progress Reporting is defined as the process of determining student achievement in the areas specified by the reporting instrument. All progress reporting shall report student performance according to the Franklin County Grade Level Expectations Curriculum Document. This document is an aligned instrument that combines Common Core for Language Arts and Math, Next Generation Science Standards, Social Studies Standards, and Enrichment Standards.

TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Progress Reports are to be completed and sent to parents on the exact date determined by the Director of Student Services, based on the school calendar approved by the Franklin County Board of Education. 2. Classroom teachers are to include grades in each student’s report card every nine weeks. Each teacher shall add student specific comments in each subject area every 9 weeks. The comments need to include strengths and areas of improvement. 3. Enrichment teachers shall include a grade in each student’s report card every nine weeks. Each enrichment teacher shall include student specific comments to student report cards at least once over the course of the school year. Enrichment teachers are expected to comment on student progress on a rotational basis. The comments need to include strengths and areas of improvement. 4. In cases where Area of Concern (AC) or a failing grade (D or F) are marked on midterms, specific comments regarding that grade need to be included. 5. Progress reports will be documented in Infinite Campus. Teachers in grades 4 and 5 will update grades weekly and parents will have access to Infinite Campus to monitor student progress. Per Franklin County Board of Education Policy, grading and reporting format are at the discretion of the school:
