Entertainment, Dining and Retail Options for Valentine’s Day Abound Downtown
Dayton, Feb. 1, 2012 – During the week leading to Valentine’s Day, downtown Dayton will offer a variety of ways to celebrate the holiday through dinner specials, shopping opportunities, romantic theater performances and more. Many other downtown restaurants, entertainment venues and shops will be offering specials and entertainment. Below is a list of some of the ways to spend the holiday downtown:
Ongoing • The Century Bar, 10 S. Jefferson St. Call for hours Stop in to explore “Matters of the Art,” a mixed-media exhibit exploring the theme of Valentine’s Day created by more than 15 local artists; 937-223-3382.
Ongoing • Gallery 510 Fine Art, 508 E. Fifth St. Call for hours New for Valentine’s Day, the gallery has a variety of necklaces, bracelets and earrings from chainmail artist Laura Poplin and fiber artist Sara Cogswell. Feb. 9-12 • Victoria Theatre, 140 N. Main St. Call for show times The Dayton Ballet presents “The Butterfly Suite,” a one-act ballet based on Madame Butterfly. Feb. 9-14 • Sidebar, 410 E. Fifth St. Call for hours Beginning the Thursday before Valentine’s Day, the restaurant will offer a $50 per person dinner, which will include a glass of champagne. Feb. 10-14 • Uno Chicago Grill, 126 N. Main St. Call for hours Enjoy a $19.99 per person meal — which includes an individual appetizer, entrée and mini dessert — in celebration of the holiday. Feb. 11 • The Cannery Art and Design Center, 434 E. Third St. 7 to 10 p.m. The YMCA of Greater Dayton will host its fourth annual Valentine’s Day Masquerade Ball at the Cannery Art and Design Center.
