The details of each camp under this title are described on the following WEB page : http://www.bugday.org/tatuta/allFarms.php?lang=EN If you want to choose a camp from this section, please refer to the address above, as there are 70 farms under this headline. You can either choose 1 farm and stay there as long as you want or move among the farms. Dates are flexible, thus you can start any time if the farm is available for the requested period. Minimum stay is 1 week in each farm, maximum is 3 months. In order to get a place please give as much choices as possible. Below is a general description. The farms are located in different regions of Turkey. They are the samples of the traditional organic farming in Turkey as many other farmers use chemicals unfortunately. All farms offer a very close contact with the local people as the volunteers will be living & working together with the farmer families. Some farms are ready to accept vols between April – November but many of them prefer certain dates. Thus volunteers are requested to consider the time of availability of each camp. All volunteers have to meet in GENÇTUR office in Istanbul as usual work camps.

Volunteers will stay in or near by the farms in separated rooms, in some cases under tents. Meals are mainly eaten with the family members. Mainly vegetarian food is served. Sleeping bags and mats are not necessary. Please note that, you might be the only volunteer at the time when you are in the farm as we can not guarantee to find other volunteers for the same period of your free time.

Minimum age is 20. A motivation letter should be attached to the application form. There is an inscription fee of 30 Euro to be paid to GENÇTUR on arrival.

There will be different type of daily manual & sometimes hard work in each farm such as picking up vegetables or fruits; hoeing, raking or spading the soil; grafting or pruning the trees, watering the plants and trees, mowing grasses, weeding, animal feeding & caring, basic construction works, producing mud bricks, harvesting corps, drying leaves or seeds, processing grains, producing jam or sauce, dry stone wall making, cooking, general cleaning, etc. Of course not all these works will be faced in each farm and in each period but volunteers must be ready and agreed to do any kind of manual work requested. Teaching basic, daily English might be a task of the volunteers as well. Farmers will be working alongside and working hours may vary depending on the work. Also working hours will be longer than usual work camps, but farmers are tolerant towards volunteers unless they are not really lazy.
