Sports Day Ethan

Sports Day 2013 Friday June the 7th

At last it’s here, Eton’s sports day. It was a cold day but so fun. Sports day has finally come and I can’t wait to get started. There were the three teams competing, there were the Navy Blue Avengers, The Might Green Hulks and the Hot Pink Punk Rockers. My two awesome captains Marley and Savanah did a great job in practising ball games and running. The Hulks made it kind of hard because they kept running all over the track while we were practising. Anyway that’s enough of that so let’s get into the day.

First up we had the march past around half the oval and we met in the middle in front of the parents. Up next we had the banner competition then the war cries, Hulks won the banner, The Pink Punk Rockers won the war cry and our team won the march past. After that we had the 200m races. There were Brady, Keldon and I competing and I came 1st, Brady came 2nd and Keldon came 3rd. The 100m sprints were next, I was a little disappointed because I came 2nd Brady came 1st and Keldon came 3rd.

So much running, thank goodness we got to go to morning tea. But it was too short. We had field events next. We were doing a rotation of the events. My team had shot put first, then high jump which is my favourite, After that we had long jump. The scores were close, so my team had to keep the lead. Luckily we had time to relax because it was time to go to lunch. Now that lunch is finished we had to do ball games and relays. After that the winners were announced, Pink team 1st, Blue team 2nd and Green team 3rd.

At last the day was almost over and the overall winners were about to be announced and we were all biting our nails, then finally The Avengers. OMG my team won and it was the best sports day ever.
