There are financial, physical and spiritual problems B. IS THERE AN ANSWER TO THE PROBLEMS OF LIFE? 1. If so, what is the answer? 2. The answer is not to be found in books of psychology Or books of human wisdom or what I may think C. WHAT IS THE ANSWER? 1. The answer is to be found in the teaching of Christ 2. If the teaching of Christ IS followed it will solve many of the problems of life II. WHO OR WHAT IS THE ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM OF GUIDANCE? A. WE ALL NEED GUIDANCE-JER. 10:23 1. We need help-someone to give us guidance Point us in the right direction B. CHRIST AND HIS WORD IS THE ANSWER 1. His Word GIVES GUIDANCE-PSA. 119:105,104;73:24 2. We must learn to trust and obey what He says C. HE IS THE ANSWER TO OUR PHYSICAL AND OUR SPIRITUAL 1. WHAT IS THE ANSWER TO OUR PHYSICAL? MATT. 8:33 2. OUR SPIRITUAL NEEDS? a Jesus came for that purpose-Lk. 19:10 b In Jn. 14:5, when asked “How can we know the way?”- 6 c.He died for that reason-Matt. 26:28 d.He was resurrected to give us hope-Jn. 11:25-26 e.He has given us the Words of eternal life-Jn. 6:68; 14:6 III. HE IS THE ANSWER TO HUMAN RELATIONS A. PROBLEMS AND TROUBLES COME BECAUSE OF HATRED, JEALOUSY, SELFISHNESS, HARSH JUDGMENTS, COVETEOUSNESS AND UNKIND WORDS-JAS 4:1-3; 4:7-8; 3:5-6; GAL. 5:16 1. Where do these come from?-Matt. 15:19 B. WHAT IS THE ANSWER? IT MUST BEGIN WITH THE HEART-MATT.23:25-26-THERE MUST BE A CHANGE OF HEART-THE FOLLOWING MUST BE PUT AWAY 1. Hatred-We must CHAGE THE HEART Eph. 4:22, 26, 31; Rm. 13:10 2. Jealousy-I Pet. 2:1 3. Selfishness- I Cor. 13:5 4. Harsh judgment-Matt. 7:1; I Cor. 13:5 5. Coveteousness-Acts 20:35 6. These are some of the problems that could be solved if One ALLOWS THE Word of GOD direct his life C. MATT. 7:12 WHEN FOLLOWED WOULD SOLVE MANY OF THE PROBLEMS OF HUMAN RELATIONS 1. All strife would cease 2. Where does this principle begin?-It begins with me IV. CHRIST IS THE ANSWER TO PROBLEMS IN THE HOME A. IF WE WOULD JUST RESPECT AND OBEY WHAT HE HAS TAUGHT 1. ONE OF THE PROBLEMS MANY CHRISTIANS HAVE IS A FAILURE TO LIVE ACCORDING TO WHAT THE LORD SAYS a. Man sometimes thinks he is wiser than God b. He is not-Matt. 7:24- B. LET’S LOOK AT WHAT HE SAYS CONCERNING 1. THE PROBLEM OF DIVORCE-50% of the marriages end IN DIVORCE 2. What does God’s Word Teach?-Rm. 7:2; Matt. 19:5-6; MAL. 2:16-ARE WE LISTENING TO GOD? a. God made one woman for one man for life-Gen. 3:18, 21, 33, 24; MATT. 19:4-6 b. ONLY ONE EXCEPTION-MATT. 19:9 C. CONCERNING THE HUSBAND AND WIFE RELATIONSHIP 1. Husband-Eph. 5:25, 28,21;Col. 3:19; I Tim. 5:8;Eph. 5:23; I PET. 3:7 a. Many husbands treat their wives as though they were a piece of property To be dealt with as they please a. Others treat their wives as a slave to be ordered around b. A husband who loves his wife as Christ loved the church Does not treat His wife that way 2. Wife-Tit. 2:4; Eph. 5:22,24,33;Col. 3:18; Tit. 2:5;I Cor. 7:34; I Pet 3:1-6 a. Sometimes wives become bosy-Remember-Eph. 5:23,22 D. BETWEEN PARENTS AND CHILDREN 1. Parents-Love, provide, protect, train-Tit. 2:3-4; Eph. 6:4; Col. 3:21; Deut. 6:4-7 a. Are parents to do the same today-if not, why not? 2. Children-Eph. 6:1-3; Col. 3:20-Paul warns 3. WHEN THESE PRINCIPLES ARE FOLLOWED THEY WILL SOLVE MANY OF THE PROBLEMS AND TROUBLES AT HOME? V. CHRIST IS THE ANWER TO THE PROBLEM OF SIN A. “ALL HAVE SINNED”-RM. 3:23 B. “THE WAGES OF SIN”-RM. 6:23 C. WHAT IS THE ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM OF SIN? CHRIST-MATT. 1:21; RM. 5:8; EPH. 1:7 D. WE MUST RECOGNIZE THAT WHILE CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS WE ALSO MUST ACCEPT AND OBEY 1. Just as a coin has two side-Salvation has two sides 2. What does God require of man? a. Problems in the Home 4. Problem of sin 5. Problem of death B. ARE YOU WILLING TO BELIEVE, TRUST HIM AND SUBMIT YOUR LIFE TO HIM AND DO HIS WILL? IF SO, MANY OF THE PROBLEMS OF THIS LIFE WILL BECOME EASIER. YOU WILL BE HAPPIER IN THIS LIFE AND IN THE LIFE TO COME YOU WILL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE
