Description
This Hearing hosted by the Vitality Institute Commission on the Prevention of Chronic Diseases in Working Age Americans will focus on technology-based innovations to advance prevention and health promotion in relation to major chronic disease risks. Guests include experts and leaders focused on technology to reduce disease risks including diet, tobacco control, mental health, physical activity, and medication adherence.
The NYAS and the Institute for the Future will present preliminary research findings on technologies that are “quick wins” based on evidence of impact, and consider what it will take to scale these and to reach people at all educational and income levels. Selected commissioners with expertise in technology innovation will share responses, followed by a moderated group discussion. Discussions will focus on: - Measures to improve primary prevention as well as secondary prevention. - Advances in science able to improve diets, tobacco control, mental health, physical activity, and adherence including technologies at the interface of these advances with a focus on connectivity to individuals and providers. - Landscape assessment on innovative technology available today.
