TAIZE TEAM FUNDRAISER This summer, SDFC is sending a team of approximately 20 people to spend one week in Taize, France at a monastery to learn about God's transforming power of reconciliation in our lives and communities. The team will then spend a week in Ashton, England serving a Nazarene church with a building renovation project that will provide life skill education classes. Members of the Taize team will be selling handmade Mother's Day, Father's Day, graduation and birthday cards after church Sunday, May 12th, to raise money to subsidize the costs of the trip. Cards will be on sale for a suggested donation of $5 per card.

SEND A KID TO CAMP – CHILDREN’S MINISTRY FUNDRAISER – TO SEND ALL OUR CHILDREN TO DISTRICT CAMP IN IDYLWILD Kids will be fundraising during Elevate weekend, May 24-27. You can help by donating!!!

Still needed: 18- Gallons of Vanilla Ice Cream (1 gallon or larger tubs preferred) 14- XL Bags of tortilla chips (Costco or Smart and Final size) 10 - #10 cans of Nacho Cheese Sauce (from Costco or Smart and Final) 100 -16oz. plastic cups th  The items are needed by Sunday, May 19 .

CHICK-FIL-A MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY May 22nd is Military Appreciation Night at Chick-fil-A on Sports Arena Boulevard. Eight more volunteers are needed from 3pm – 7:30pm. A free meal and t-shirt will be given to all volunteers. Sign up on the board outside the Children’s Building this Sunday.

BABIES CONGRATULATIONS and MEAL TRAIN FOR ROSS AND KENDRA OAKS- MUELLER Ross and Kendra both teach in the Psychology department at PLNU. They have two boys, Nash and Nolan (almost 3 and 5). Kendra delivered twins, a boy and a girl, Norah and North, early on May 8. Meals are a great way to continue to support the Oakes-Mueller Family. It will be best to deliver the meals to PLNU or First Church (directions are indicated on the Meal Train page). DIPES AND WIPES DRIVE In honor of Mother’s Day, we will be collecting donations for the San Diego Rescue Mission and Eunime, an orphanage in Tijuana for children with HIV. Please bring donations of DIAPERS, WIPES, and FORMULA any timefrom now until Mother’s Day, May 12. Look for the Pack N Play (portable playpen) to drop off your donations. WEDDING SHOWER WEDDING SHOWER FOR KALLIE CALDWELL AND TYLER HALL All are invited Sunday, June 2nd, to a Come-and-Go wedding shower for Tyler Hall and Kallie Caldwell in Ellipse Chapel from 11:45am-1pm. Tyler, son of Tim and Tracy Hall, and Kallie met as students at PLNU, and both played soccer while in school. Tyler graduated in May of 2012, and is pursuing a career in law enforcement. Kallie graduated in May of 2013, and is planning to attend grad school in the fall with the hopes of becoming an elementary school teacher. They are getting married on August 3rd in the Ellipse Chapel. They are registered at Pottery Barn and Bed, Bath, & Beyond.

MISSIONS TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO SIGN UP FOR HONDURAS WORK AND WITNESS TRIP | June 28-July 8 | Partner with The Cocal Gracias Project in Puerto Cortez, Honduras to serve at the school (Ministerio La Voz) in various ministerial aspects. Perform minor service projects, lead Bible studies, or teach a few vocational classes, and celebrate the students as part of their graduation ceremony. Trip cost is approximately $1600. AT HOME IN SAN DIEGO | July 1-25 | Young Life in Catalunya, Spain is looking for host families in San Diego to provide housing for their teens while they visit San Diego this summer. Families will host one teen (14-18 years old) and welcome them into their normal family activities during this month. Teens will attend a YL camp for one week and be involved with various YL events as well. HAITI | November 19-26 | Partner with our SoCal District to build a church and medical clinic in the Jean-Rabel Region for the Bouflette Church of the Nazarene. Additional time to evangelize, encourage, and support our Haitian friends. Trip cost is $1300.
