1 FAQ for the Portable Air Conditioner 2

How to choose the Portable Air Conditioners

It is just for reference to choose the EnStar’s Portable Air Conditioner.

ENMD 10,000 ENMD 12,000 (10,000Btu/H) (12,000Btu/H)

SQUARE FEET 160 – 270 270 – 440 (WEST EXPOSURE) SQUARE FEET 250 – 300 300 – 500 (EAST EXPOSURE) SQUARE FEET 210 – 330 330 – 550 (SOUTH EXPOSURE) SQUARE FEET 270 – 420 420 – 700 (NORTH EXPOSURE)

We recommend increasing the Btu/Hr of this calculation for  Frequently used kitchen (4000 Btu/Hr)  Height than 8 feet (1000 Btu/Hr)

Warning: The Portable Air Conditioner should be put upright. If the Portable Air Conditioner be laid down for a while, it needs to put upright at least four (4) hours before operating

Q: What is a SEER rating? A: Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating is a governmental environmental standard for the air conditioning industry.

Q: Why are some units SEER 10.2 and others SEER 13? A: The government recently made a minor increase in the SEER rating to 13. Because there were a lot of SEER 10.2 already manufactured, they ruled that only units manufactured after that date would have to be SEER 13 and that is why you will still see some of each.

2 FAQ for the Portable Air Conditioner 3

1. [PAC] Self diagnosis function.

LCD or LED display Malfunction Remedy P2 Water full protection. Press the TURBO button on LCD to drain the water P1 Drainage protection. Press the TURBO button on LCD to drain the water E3 T3 sensor malfunction. Turn off the unit and restart it 10 E2 T2 sensor malfunction. minutes later, if it happens same, E1 T1 sensor malfunction. call the service center. T1: Temperature of ambient. T2: Temperature of evaporator. T3: Temperature of condenser.

2. [PAC] What is maximum length and height for installation of air exhaust pipe?

The length of the air exhaust must be between 50 cm ~ 200 cm and the height of the end of air exhaust must be between 40 cm ~ 130 cm from the ground level.

If the air exhaust requires bend, bend as shown as below

3 FAQ for the Portable Air Conditioner 4

3. [PAC] Why is water leaked when the unit is travelled?

The unit hold some water inside it for cooling down the hot Freon gas when the unit is operating. Therefore when the unit need to be travelled, you need to keep the unit uprightly and drain out this water from the unit too .

4.Installation

Installation of the Portable Air Conditioner

Warning: The Portable Air Conditioner should be put upright. If the Portable Air Conditioner be laid down for a while, it needs to put upright at least four (4) hours before operating.

Location Put the Portable Air Conditioner(PAC) at an open place where the air outlets cannot be covered up, place the unit no less than 50cm away from a wall or other obstacle.

4 FAQ for the Portable Air Conditioner 5

Power Supply Before connecting the PAC to the power supply, please check: 1) The power supply is rated voltage ±6%. 2) The power supply line is properly earthed and sized for a pickup current of 20A, so as to avoid voltage drops when starting the PAC 3) The unit connected to a 16Amp socket by a 16Amp plug fitted. 4) Cross-section area of the wires must be at least 2.5㎟. 5) If the power supply cord of the unit is broken, please replace it with a special power supply cord and a skilled service man is needed to do this. 6) Please go to the maintenance department for changing the power cord and plug it they are damaged. 7) The PAC must be positioned so that the plug is touchable. 8) The minimum clearance from the PAC to combustible surface is 50㎝.

For to prevent flicker impressions during the start of the compressor (technical process) following installation conditions do apply.

1) The power connection for the PAC has to be done at the main power distribution. This distribution has to be of low impedance. Normally the required impedance is reached at a 32A fusing point. 2) No other equipment has to be connected to this power line. 3) For detailed installation acceptance please refer to your contract with the power supplier, if restrictions do apply for products like washing machines, air conditioners, or electrical ovens. 4) For power details of the PAC refer to the rating plate of the product.

Preparation work First of all, prepare the exhaust hose as the below picture show to you.

Second, connect the exhaust hose with unit, like the blow picture.

After this two steps, please make sure the exhaust hose’s connect is OK 5 FAQ for the Portable Air Conditioner 6

Air Exhaust duct 1) Fix the square end of the exhaust duct to the exhaust terminal of the unit. 2) Put the other end (discharge) to the nearest window with the window kit.

Note: those pictures are just example

6 FAQ for the Portable Air Conditioner 7

The length of the air exhaust must be between 50㎝ ~ 200㎝.

3) When mounting the air exhaust, try to keep it horizontal.

4) If mounting in the wall, the height of the hole should be 40㎝ ~ 130㎝.

5) If the air exhaust requires bend, bend as shown as below.

Permanent installation

Attach one end of the duct to the exhaust air outlet of the mobile air conditioner. According to the arrow direction, push it downwards, be sure to fix thoroughly. Install the adaptor A onto the wall by using 4 expansion plugs and screws, be sure to fix thoroughly. 7 FAQ for the Portable Air Conditioner 8

Attach the other end of the duct to adaptor A. Cover the hole using the adaptor cap when not in use.
