Foods II -- Culinary Arts 2016-2017 Syllabus
Classroom Goals: To learn the fundamentals and principles of the art of cooking and the science of baking and includes management and production skills and techniques.
Classroom Expectations:
Have a great attitude
Be a team player
Practice kitchen and food safety
Do what is asked of you without questioning or complaining
If you choose not to meet the expectations, you will be given an alternate assignment.
Class Requirements:
Culinary Competitions: FCCLA STAR Events, FCCLA FCSA’s, Taste of Aggieland, etc
Garden: We will be working in the school garden, feel free to bring shoes, clothes, gloves, etc.
Robertson County Fair :You will have the opportunity to participate in the Foods Show at the Robertson County Fair on April 1, 2017. You will prepare your food project in class individually or with a partner. You are required to prepare at least one entry in the “Canned Goods” category which includes: Pickled Vegetables, Sauce, Salsa/Relish, Fruit Spreads, or Misc. Canned Foods. There is a $5.00 fee per entry.
Classroom Supplies: You are responsible for bringing 1 package of disposable plates or bowls
Classroom Apps: You are responsible for downloading the following free apps on your smartphone or tablet to use in class.

2. Google Docs
3. Google Drive
4. Google Classroom
Cell Phone Policy: Personal technology is prohibited, you will be required to leave your personal technology in (the designated area). If you choose not comply and your personal technology is visible or audible, it will be turned into the office. Foods I Recall Activity
