Hopes, Dreams, Wishes – Day 3

1. Making Nouns Plural: a. 2. Group Assignment: You will be given a sheet of paper that has either quotations or synonyms. In your groups, complete the word map as I’ve shown you in class. Choose words that describe the item and relate to the theme. The words may come from the item or may be related to the item. However, the words must apply to the theme “Hopes, Dreams, Wishes.” a. When you have your list together, go to the computer to Wordle.net. Follow the instructions below to create a word cloud, save it, and post it to the class wiki. Alternatively, you may get poster board from the closet and markers from me and create the word cloud on a poster. (A word cloud is a series of words and phrases written at random places and angles to create a picture. If you use a poster, please choose one phrase or word that you think is most important to be written bigger than the other words. See my example at the class wiki.) b. If you choose to do the poster, show me your work, then post it in the hall using the hot glue gun. 3. When you complete your wordle or your poster, sit down by yourself. Think about the wishes, hopes, and dreams that you have for yourself. a. List as many as you can think of. Some may be simple, such as reading a book by a certain author or beating a specific video game. Others may be more complex, such as your choice of career or raising $1000 for a charity. Whatever it may be, you should have at least 35-40 before the class period is over. b. Look back over the list and choose at least 15-20 that are attainable within the next four years. Mark these with a star or highlight them. c. Put your name on the paper and turn it in to me. Directions for Wordle.net
