Disability Services Commission My Way Partnership Group

Terms of Reference

Purpose The purpose of the My Way Partnership Group is to provide advice and feedback on the overall direction and monitoring of the My Way project.

Functions The functions of the partnership group include but are not limited to:

 providing a forum for information exchange between key stakeholders  providing a forum for discussion and debate about broad strategic issues relating to the My Way project  identifying and/or clarifying issues as they emerge during the course of the project  actively contributing to problem-solving and identifying potential solutions of identified issues  providing a link between the WA NDIS Reference Group and the My Way project  assisting with communication to the broader sector and community.

Membership The partnership group will comprise representatives from people with disability, their families and carers, disability sector organisations, peak bodies and Commission staff. Representatives include:

1 Meeting procedures 1. The meetings will be co-chaired by Marcus Stafford (CEO Multiple Sclerosis Society and WA NDIS Reference group member) and Robyn Massey (Executive Director, My Way Project).

2. The partnership group will meet on a monthly basis in the early stages of the project, to be reviewed as appropriate.

3. If required, subgroup meetings will be arranged outside of these times at a time convenient to subgroup members.

4. Membership is based on the specific background and skills of the nominated individuals and proxies will not be required. If a member withdraws from the partnership group, the Disability Services Commission will, at its discretion, appoint another member with the specific background and skills to complement the sitting members.

5. All members to contribute to the agenda. Agenda items to be forwarded to the Executive Support Officer two weeks before the meeting. Chairs to have responsibility for determining the final agenda. The final agenda, together with reports and documents that relate to the partnership group, will be forwarded to members in sufficient time to enable consideration before meetings.

6. Members to take responsibility for declaring conflicts of interest, as appropriate.

Support and recording of procedures Executive support to be provided by the Disability Services Commission. Minutes to be provided to all members. A ‘For Release’ copy to be posted on the My Way webpage.
