She has one brother, Colton, age 15, 28 and one sister, Marla, age 14; and 29 30 Whereas, Miss Davis graduated from Riverside High School 31 where she was the recipient of the prestigious Leadership Award 32 from the student government. She was also a member of the 33 National Art Honor Society; and 34 35 Whereas, this extremely talented eighteen year old has won 36 twenty-six gold medals while competing in the United States 37 Figure Skating Association. At age sixteen she was the youngest 38 performer ever hired at Paramount Carowinds in Charlotte, North 39 Carolina; and 40 41 Whereas, her platform as Miss South Carolina is promoting 42 volunteerism and teaching children the importance and benefits of

1 [4789] 1 1 volunteering. Miss Davis has completed four thousand hours 2 volunteering in the last two years. Further, she has founded an 3 organization titled “Each One…Reach One” and its goal is leading 4 others to help society by volunteering; and 5 6 Whereas, Miss Davis was awarded a four-year full scholarship to 7 Converse College prior to becoming Miss South Carolina. Her 8 talent in the competition was vocal performance, and she hopes to 9 obtain a bachelor of music degree from Converse College and then 10 proceed to Belmont University where she will seek a post graduate 11 degree in vocal performance with a minor in music business and 12 management; and 13 14 Whereas, Miss Davis’ aspirations for the future are to pursue a 15 career as a recording artist; and 16 17 Whereas, Danielle is not only brilliant in the academic sphere, she 18 is also a caring and generous human being of deeply-rooted family 19 values and impeccably high standards; and 20 21 Whereas, we are extremely proud of Danielle Davis and are 22 delighted to recognize our “Miss South Carolina” as a goodwill 23 ambassador and role model for our State and a representative of 24 the Palmetto State who is making a difference. Now, therefore, 25 26 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 27 concurring: 28 29 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 30 Carolina, by this resolution, extend their best wishes and heartfelt 31 congratulations to our current “Miss South Carolina”, Danielle 32 Davis of Greer, on the special occasion of “Miss South Carolina 33 Appreciation Day”. 34 35 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 36 “Miss South Carolina”, Danielle Davis. 37 ----XX----
