Anime Club is on Thursday this week from 2:30 to 4:30. There will be no art club this week. Art club will resume next week every Thursday after school. X The Text is back! Each year we lose more teenagers due to distracted diving than any other cause. Help us raise awareness with Allstate by pledging to end texting and driving at the game on Friday. Everyone has the opportunity to buy a paper airplane to get a chance to win money! X The Text will be this Friday in the Den at the Varsity Games at 5:30 and 7pm against Lakeland. Make sure to wear NAVY in the Den! Attention all junior girls! The Distinguished Young Women scholarship program for the Class of 2017 is getting ready to begin! This scholarship program, which was formerly called Junior Miss, recognizes outstanding high school junior girls in our community based upon the five categories that are judged the evening of the program: interview, talent, scholastics, self-expression, and fitness. There will be an informational meeting for you and your parents to attend on Wednesday, January 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Hands to Art. Rehearsals will begin on February 3rd. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Cook in room D2. A representative from Moody Bible Institute will be on campus Wed. Feb. 10th at 10:00 a.m. If you are interested in l earning more about what Moody has to offer, sign up in the Counseling Center. Seniors – have you played a Varsity sport for at least two years and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher? Are you planning to attend college after LCHS? If so, stop by the Counseling Center to pick up the “Van Troxel Scholarship” application! Application deadline is May 1st.
The Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology visit has been re-scheduled to Tuesday, Feb. 9th at 1:00 p.m.. Be sure to sign up in the Counseling Center.
Juniors and Seniors who are interested in attending University of Idaho- there is an event on Tuesday, February 2nd at the CDA Resort from 5-8pm. Bring your parents and friends to this Vandal Event! They will be giving out Vandal gear, helping with students apply to U of I, answer questions, and help with scholarships and financial aid. Hey you guys! Come watch the Goonies, Thursday the 28th, in the auditorium. Doors open at 6:00 and the movie starts at 6:30. Tickets cost $2 donation. There will not be full concessions but there will be Krispy Kreme donuts, Hot Chocolate, and Popcorn! Donuts and hot chocolate cost $1.00 each, and a bag of popcorn is 3$. Invite your friends and join us on our treasure hunt.
Wednesday, February 10th is the Spike N Stuff Volleyball Game. Sign-up your co-ed team of at least three boys and three girls at lunch and make sure to pick up release forms as well. Deadline to sign up is February 8th. $15 dollars for a team and $2 to get into the game. Turn in the money to Mrs. Wu in room B2. We play Post Falls on Tuesday, February 2nd at Post Falls. The Den Theme for our away game is superheroes. Dress up as your favorite superhero.
