ST STEPHEN IN BRANNEL PARISH COUNCIL

Minutes of a meeting of the Community Benefit Fund Committee held in the Brannel Room, Fore St, St Stephen on Thursday 24th February 2016 at 6.45p.m.

Present: Chair: Cllr Mrs Wonnacott Vice Chair: Cllr Hatton Messrs: Cllrs R Allsopp, Hallett and Phillips

In Attendance: Verna Hedley – Clerk, Cllr Simson (7.00pm) Cllr Sibley (7.15pm)

Cllr Mrs Wonnacott welcomed everyone to the meeting and reminded Members that if they participated in the meeting they could be recorded, photographed, filmed or otherwise reported about.

CBF01/16Apologies: There were no apologies.

CBF02/16 Declarations of Interest: There were no declarations of interest or hospitality/gifts over the value of £10.

CBF03/16 Dispensations: There were no dispensation requests.

CBF04/16 Public Participation: There were no members of the public at the meeting.

CBF05/16 Minutes of Previous Meeting: The minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 17 December 2015 were approved and signed as a true and accurate record.

CBF06/16 Matters Arising: 1. Members were advised that the fund would be advertised in the St Stephen in Brannel Community News and St Austell Voice. Notices would be put on the Parish notice boards and in shops. Letters would also be written to all eligible local organisations. 2. A second letter had been written to the Pantomime Co. regarding proof that the grant had been used for the purchase of lighting. To date no reply had been received.

CBF07/16 Grant Applications: RESOLVED to recommend as follows:

Coombe Community Hall - £1,512.00 for the urgent repair to the roof. This grant to be taken from the Trethosa Sola Farm Community Benefit Fund.

CBF08/16 Terms of Reference: RESOLVED that the current Terms of Reference were fit for purpose.

01/16 CBF09/16 Kernick Solar Farm: Members were advised that the bank had given positive feedback with regard to amending the scope of the fund. Nicola Taylor was on holiday and would look at what changes were needed to the document on her return.

CBF10/16 Information & Answers (for information only) 1. Cllr Sibley advised that the installation of the new heating would be completed by the end of the week. It was the intention to hold an event to celebrate this and the retirement of one of the committee. Cllr Sibley asked about a plaque/promotion of how the heating had been funded. The Clerk stated she would have to check the agreements to see what it said with regard to publicity. 2. The Clerk was requested to add publicity and the number of times an organisation could apply for the grant to the next Community Benefit Agenda.
