Dear Approving Manager

Dear Approving Manager:

I am writing to request your approval to attend the Tactical Power Sources Summit taking place January 27-29, 2014 in the Washington DC Metro Area. After viewing the event agenda, it appears the summit would provide our organization and I with a wealth of knowledge to improve our understanding of Tactical Power.

IDGA’s 11th Annual Tactical Power Sources Summit will bring together all relevant stakeholders to discuss the most pressing issues facing the mobile power community. Examine future trends, identify immediate and long-term needs, and uncover up-and-coming technologies for use in future threat environments. Policy makers, uniformed service leaders, academia and industry partners will gather in Washington D.C. to network, share best practices and explore potential paths to analyze the future of military energy.

Attending this summit will allow me to :

 Explore the latest technologies in deployed tactical power for the Warfighter

 Discover the most recent mission essential requirements for soldier equipment

 Look at challenges faced and solutions needed in each of the Armed Services

 Better understand the community’s acquisition priorities and how industry can partner for overall collaborative success

By attending this event, I expect to learn about - Powering the Future with Clean Energy, Developments in Nano-Carbon Technology and Future Generation Power Systems, Fuel Cell Technology, Implementation of the DoD Operational Energy Strategy, Flash Point Comparisons of Electrolyte Solvents for Safer Lithium-Ion Batteries, and Enabling Extended Missions in Remote Locations. I will also have the chance to benchmark against several of our peer and competitor organizations through scheduled networking activities.

Here are 5 examples of specific speaker presentations I plan to attend:

 HON Katherine Hammack, Assistant Secretary of the Army (Installations, Energy & Environment) Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army  Col James Caley, USMC, Director, Expeditionary Energy Office, U.S. Marine Corps  John Willison, SES, Director, Command Power, & Integration Directorate, U.S. Army RDECOM CERDEC  Don Juhasz, Director, Energy Resource, Management, Defense Logistics Agency  LTC David Hibner, USA Commander, 249th Engineer Battalion Commandant, U.S. Army Prime Power School U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The All-Access Pass is $1,835 and it includes:

 3-Day Pass to the conference and workshops  Buffet Breakfast and Lunch  Networking Sessions  Post-Event Access to presentations and materials

At this point we have a chance for an “early-bird special” that will significantly lower the price. Afterwards, I’d like to review these materials with you and discuss how we can leverage them into both gaining access to these verticals and into improving our tactical power quality. I would appreciate your approval by Date HERE to take advantage of travel and pricing discounts.

Sincerely, NAME TITLE
