Current Consultant-Bergen Cty(RegionV)-Council for Sp. Educ. Part-time psychologist consultant to non-public schools providing assistance to school personnel to include but not limited to workshop presentations as well as consultation to teaching staff and administration.
Feb. 1989-June 2008 Psychologist Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) Institute for Child Development (ICD) As a full time psychologist, administered psychological evaluations and reviewed findings with interdisciplinary team and parents for children from birth through adulthood. Provided psychotherapy for children and parents (or caregivers) focussing on various diagnoses to include, but not limited to, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, autistic spectrum disorders and adjustment disorders. Provided ongoing in-services to ICD staff, medical residents, and summer scholars regarding psychotherapy and assessment. Coordinator of ICD Psychology Department graduate extern training. Committee training member of a comprehensive pediatric internship for the HUMC department of pediatrics N.J. designated children’s hospital, when ICD was an integral part. Supervised graduate students and non-licensed psychologists in assessment and psychotherapy. Member of ICD Professional Development Committee 1993- 1994 to help plan staff in-service training. Supervised prior to licensing by a New Jersey licensed psychologist. As of June 2008, HUMC restructured ICD and eliminated all psychology lines.
1988.1989 Board of Education, NYC Administered psychological batteries to hearing and visually impaired school age youngsters. Reviewed findings with staff and parents.
1986.1987 Schneider Childrens Hospital (LIJ) New Hyde Park, N.Y. Provided psychological services in this infant toddler program to include assessment, parent counseling, individual psychotherapy, and case management. Supervised by a NYS licensed psychologist.
1979-1989 NYU Medical Center, NYC In the dept. of psychiatry, senior research technician for the NYLS on temperament (Alexander Thomas, M.D., and Stella Chess, M.D., principal investigators).
1985-1986 Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, N.Y. Full-time psychology intern in this APA approved facility. Provided psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families utilizing individual, family, and group therapy modalities. Administered assessments to children, adolescents, and adults. Received experience with pediatric and adolescent consultation liaison as well as treatment in a therapeutic nursery setting. At least ten individually supervised hours per week, as well as other group supervision and one-way video supervision with several NYS licensed psychologists, respectively.
1983.1984 Bronx Childrens Psychiatric Center, Bronx, N.Y. Part-time psychology extern providing psychotherapy for inpatient and day unit children ranging from five to twelve years of age as well as psychological testing of both children and adolescents. Individual supervision with NYS licensed psychologists.
