“Opportunities are often disguised as hard work, some people just don’t recognize them.” - Ann Landers Objective I: Increase Communication to all members in order to become a more coherent association Date: September 2017 - June 2018 Who: Ruslan Diaz, Vice President of Media; New Jersey DECA State Officers, New Jersey DECA Social Media Correspondents Goal: ● Keep members updated on NJ DECA’s activity through all channels of Social Media. ● Try to reach out to a broader audience of members to increase distribution of information. Procedure: ● Before Posting, create meaningful content that will not shy away our audience. ● Post often on all of our pages with important information and updates for advisors and members. ● Daily/Weekly Updates; Twitter ● Weekly Monthly Posts, (Photo/Video): Instagram/Facebook ● Snapchat to keep members updated during COLT, Power Trip, Regional, State and International Conferences.
Objective II: Increase Social Media Presence Date: September 2017 - June 2018 Who: Ruslan Diaz, Vice President of Media; New Jersey DECA State Officers, New Jersey DECA Social Media Correspondents
Goal: ● Increase the number followers on all of our platforms by 30% ● Increase engagement with fellow members of our State Association ● Create Content that is more interesting in order to gain more followers. Procedure ● Promote our pages at COLT, Power Trip, Regional, State and International Conferences. ● Use creativity and passion along with cutting edge equipment in order to create more intriguing content for our followers. ● Implement social media challenges and recognize winners to be more engaged with our followers.
Objective lIl: Recruit new chapters through Social Media Date: September 2017 - June 2018 Who: Ruslan Diaz, Vice President of Media; New Jersey DECA State Officers Goal: ● Recruit as many chapters as possible Procedure: ● Enhance Social media pages to show what DECA is just by scrolling through our content. ● Encourage students to start chapters in their school because they are interested in what we do through different forms of online communication. ● Contact schools Facebook pages to inform them what DECA is and why they should be apart of our association.
